Apartment Reviews for Water's Edge Luxury Apartments
Future Renter

I had always liked this property. The staff was friendly, professional and answers all your questions. The rates are very reasonable for the sq. footage and amenities, too! Unlike some communities that have $$$ deposits, membership fees, etc. There's a walking trail, clubhouse, large pool, sauna, jacuzzi and a biking trail nearby. They do have rent specials and employer discounts. The community is literally at Route 33/I-70's doorstep, though, it is quiet, well-maintained; There's a gatehouse/gated entrance for residents. Very spacious clubhouse, too! It is a nice community.
With that said, it's of note to mention that the surrounding area, particularly at one of the convenience stores next to community, looks like it may have a lot of crime activity. If you don't mind the intrastate, you can get to just about anywhere that has stores, shopping, restaurants, etc. However, there does appear to be a higher police visibilty in the area. Make sure you check your renter's insurance to see if rate goes up! Some of the apt.'s do have security systems installed, and the community is gated, too. I had stopped in a year ago to rent an apt and the jacuzzi was broken then and still is (apparently they are awaiting a part.) The sauna is also closed. I was given the oportunity to walk through the unit I would've rented and noticed that the bathroom floor had a large hairball from a brush, and w/d door was off track. Also, my opinion of the leasing staff has changed in lieu of my circumstances, recently. I had a close friend pass away and decided not to live here-cancelling within 3-wks. Since the waitlist has so many on it, I doubt they would have trouble re-leasing the only avail unit. I had sent a few emails to them and also called and left msg. Not one response. I also wanted to know if that same unit that I was going to rent was still avail as I really wanted to live here! I wasn't even given the option to be put on the waitlist, or to see if I wanted to delay my move-in date in lieu of circumstance. Not even a 'I'm sorry about your friend or the death.' No follow-up...just a cancellation letter. (though I did request this.) Apparently, they're too frustrated with me. It's a shame, because I really felt that they were personable, caring people. It's a sales job, and part of that role is customer service in ALL cases. I would've been a good tenant. I felt like Heidi dropped the ball. Would I still recommend? For the reasons in first paragraph, yes! However, you might want to check on crime rates for area. The interstate traffic will be congested during peak travel communtes, too. As for customer svc, I'm giving them a 3/5.
