Having to move across town and this sight helps a lot. Lived here about two years. My neighbors keep to them selves. Great view of a lake. Staff is always pleasant and fix things quickly. Loved the sound proof walls, so I could always play my guitar. Neighbors never even new I had a guitar or at least only heard it walking by my window. Only hear an occasional heavy walking up stairs and likely a washing machine on spin cycle. Staff even worked with me and my lease when I said I had to move closer to work. Also, gave me helpful legal advice to kick out someone I was trying to help. Very friendly.

I moved in about a week and a half ago. Staff is very warming, professional, great attitudes, and understanding. When I received my keys and examined the apartment; the apartment is spotless clean. I never rented an apartment so clean. With working till 2:00am in the morning, I have found a parking space in my area immediately. The neighbors have introduced themselves and are very polite. I hardly ever hear the person residing above me. I can set my temperature to 70 degrees and I am comfortable except when weather gets in the teens- I set it on 75 degrees and I am comfortable. My dishwasher fits perfect and really it is a beautiful apartment and beautiful scenery with the lake in back and ducks. Oh! It also has a trail walk around the lake. This will be very beneficial in the spring and summertime for me and I’m sure others. As for the neighbors if they do try to get to personal I can always tell them to give me my space. Rent is very reasonable with the amenities they give. Praise God in Jesus name He led me to Glenchester Lakes and I will always keep them in prayer for success and Blessings. One more thing, I looked behind the refrigerator and stove and was so very surprised to see it so clean. I had thought, o.k., everything is clean maybe the nastiness is hidden. I was so wrong in my thinking because it was just as spotless clean behind the refrigerator and stove as for the rest of the apartment. I just don’t understand the other rating and reviews for Glenchester Lakes that are so negative. It surely isn’t what I have experienced. I do need new carpet sometime this year but I know I will get it one way or another.

So we're moving to Glenchester Lakes next month. I always like to read the reviews of places because it's funny to see how different people complain or don't complain.
I'd just like to first say that I've lived in 3 different apartment complexes in my lifetime.... Judy, in the office at Glenchester, was THE nicest person I've ever had the pleasure of speaking to at an apartment complex.
Also, unless you live in a single family house, you're bound to have complaints. That's apartment living for ya people. You're going to have neighbors who tend to forget that they have neighbors. People are going to be ignorant and forget to pick up their dog crap. There are a million other buildings around you... you're bound to hear noise.
From all of the complaints I've read on here, I have to say I've experienced all of that times 1000 at the other places I've lived.
I will post a formal review after we move in. I just thought I'd share this with people who may actually be basing their choice on moving in by people who are expecting too much from apartment lifestyle living.

Okay...so i haven't moved in yet, but here is what i have experienced so far....I am from out of state and I have made a couple of trips to C-bus to check out housing...Of all the places we went to, this one by far was the best. The staff was kind and took their time explaining things to us....The apartment we chose is beautiful...I can not wait to move in...

Oh my god!!! I'm a new tenant and after reading all these reviews, I'm kind of wondering why I signed a lease!!! Is it really that bad?!! If there are any actual tenants or past tenants out there that may know about this complex, are the walls that thin??....is parking that awful??? Or am I just screwed??

First off let me start off saying the first time I lived her it was great, I lived in a townhouse, parking was ok....I got lucky that I had great neighbors. The second time I lived here I got a one bedroom apartment. It was always COLD the windows were awful! Parking was ridiculous! You never got a spot near where you lived. I thought that by moving to a townhouse again things would be better I was wrong! I never have parking, I can hear my neighbors constantly! They dont make anyone here obey any rules, if you complain or need something done....it wont. I will be leaving when my lease is up!

After reading the reviews on this site, we were a little bit skeptical, but after already living here for a year, we still love it!

The apartments are well-insulated against noise (either that, or our neighbors are pretty quiet!). We can hear people walk/run in the apt. above us, but this place isn't as bad as the others where we've lived.

Parking can be an issue sometimes, but we almost always get a spot right in front of our apartment.

The lake & walking-path are beautiful.

The pool & gym are pretty lackluster - nothing special there.

Some areas are pretty dark, others have more light - just depends on where your apt. is located within the complex.

The dumpster can be FAR from your apt. - most people put the trash in their trunk and drive it there.

The area is very nice & quiet - it's hard to turn left on Hilliard-Rome, but it's not as bad as it is north of I-70. Kroger, Walgreens, & Blockbuster are within walking distance. The Swifty station probably has the cheapest gas in C-Bus.

The things we like most: outside area is very spacious & green, the apartments are spacious inside and everything (appliances & fixtures) appears brand new.

I do like my apartment. The only thing is, is that well, the parking does suck, and if your sink backs up on Friday and it's after hours, you're screwed untill Monday because that's not really an emergency! Even if you have a sink full of nasty garbage disposal chunks and nasty water! The other thing is that God forbid you have a satellite dish. They wanted me to put it on the concrete patio out back, but even though my apartment building was in the way of any kind of signal, I still wasn't able to put it out front in the huge bushes around my end apartment. The response was, "Aww, that's too bad! We'd hate for you to put it up and then we'd have to ask you to take it down". No help whatsoever. I did try it on a tripod that kept falling over,so it was tied to a bag of quickcrete. If that doesn't look jacked up! You'd think they'd want it to look halfway decent...like in the ground!! Whatever!

I had a one bedroom apartment on the second floor which was very nice with the vaulted ceilings. Where mine was located I get a lot of natural sun light and was fairly quiet. In other areas of the complex there are larger families where the kids play out in the grass and scream.

The pool is very nice, except some residents bring a lot of non residents with them. There is a walking path around a the lake which is beautiful and often residents are out walking.

The parking is okay if you get a spot early but come night time plan on possibly having to walk a little ways. There have been some car break in's, but I feltl fairly safe inside my apartment you can get a security alarm which is only $10.

Dogs are only allowed in downstairs or townhouse apartments. There is dog doo around the property so watch your step. And depending on your location plan on driving your trash to the dumpster.

The staff is fairly friendly. They are very strict on payment, so if your a day late plan on paying $25 a day. Sometimes the communication with the staff is difficult. The maintence guys are very nice but sometimes lack the knowledge to really fix things.

Hilliard rome can be very busy and difficult to make a left and be ready to be stuck behind a train. The location is near krogers, walgreens, bloackbusters, domino's and your close to the stroes on west broad and hilliard rome.

The apartment is ok.

The place is pretty nice and priced well for what you receive. My only small complaint is that the train is somewhat near and if you have windows open you can hear it. I see a lot of negative reviews but really this is a well priced apartment for what you get. It's near many stores, has great access to the interstates, and has a nice pool and lake.

Just wanted to comment as I would not have moved here had I read the reviews before I signed up. I'm happy that I did not.

Parking is a bear ! Not enough spots designated around your unit. Some units you will see 5-6 people living there with 3-4 vehicles running in / out. Dumpster on the weekends will overflow. Real nast sight ecspecially if you live nearby. Traffic keeps getting worse. RXR tracks are pain the butt.
Maintenance was responsive and hard to say how well the ground are kept up. It seems like it has not stopped raining since November

I think this is the best place that I have ever lived while living in an apartment. The office staff and maintanence people are all very nice. If you have a problem it is fixed in no time.
