Apartment Reviews for Lakota Pointe Townhomes - Liberty Township

Safety- I've always felt fairly safe here, but there are some teenagers who like to pretend they're thugs who destroy things like street signs and who once lit a fire in one of the dumpsters.
Parking - each unit basically has 2 spots, though you're only guaranteed the space in front of your door. A few times a rude neighbor has let their guest park in our spot, but it's rare.
Appearance - tenants are allowed to landscape the flowerbeds in front of their homes. Some of them look great, others think lawn ornaments and fake flowers are a nice way to decorate. My biggest complaint is that tenants will take their trash to the dumpsters then leave it on the ground rather then toss it in!
Office Staff - office management has changed recently and the change has been great! They're very nice.
Maintenance - IS AWFUL! When we moved almost a year and a half ago, the toilet in the half bath was constantly running and it still is. The refrigerator started leaking 6 months ago and they've never gotten around to checking it out. When the screen broke off our dryer vent and birds moved in, they didn't bother to remove the animals when they put a new screen up. We didn't realize it until we had a vent full of dead baby birds. But when it was time to change the air filters in the heaters they came right in when my sister was sleeping upstairs and I was in the shower! And this is only the beginning of the list.
Condition of unit - For what you pay in rent, it's not too bad. Doors and doorframes are painted over so thickly, they stick, or don't close at all. Screens have holes poked in them by the kids that used to live there. The kitchen appliances are all dented and scratched. But they all work. Even the leaking fridge stays cold.
Noise level - there are a lot of kids, and you expect kids to be noisy. But people will come to pick people up for work at 7:00am and honk their horns instead of knocking on the door. People will come home at 2:00am with their car stereos playing as loudly as they can. I have the front room, and you can hear every conversation in the parking lot. However, I almost never hear my neighbors next door through the wall.
Overall - for the money, you get a TON of space. It's not a bad place to start out, but when our lease is up in 6 months I want to move.
