Apartment Review for Arlington Arms Apartments

DONT MOVE HERE!
I have only lived here for a couple months and it is by far the WORST complex I have EVER lived in! I paid my deposit and a full month's rent to move into my apartment and it wasn't even finished. Leaking toilets and sinks, mold, no screens or locks on my windows or doors, uneven tiles from the leaks, bug infestations, air conditioner broke in 90 degree weather, the list goes on and on - the "cleaning" lady only swept the carpet, everything else in the apartment (sinks, countertops, cupboards, toilets, etc) was nasty and dirty. I was very upset that I paid all that money to move into an unfinished apartment. I called up to the office and no one ever answers the phone, I called up there at least 10 times a day for 3 days with no answer, left messages with no callback until I finally decided to go up there personally to talk to them about my issues. The manager gave me a million excuses and promised me it would get taken care of asap but it took WEEKS. They only have ONE matience worker for over 150 apartments. They claim that they have 24/7 emergency matience but that is a lie. I think it is unfair, greedy, and selfish to only have 1 matience worker and make people wait weeks to get things fixed inside their apt bc they don’t want to pay other people to come in and work. I am finding things everyday that need to be fixed, I have never officially had anyone come professionally inspect my apartment which is supposed to be done before a tenant moves in. The office workers are very nice at first but once they get your money and you sign your lease they could care less about you and they're a pain to deal with.

There is trash all around the neighborhood - the landscaping is poor and dull, apartments inside and out are falling apart, there are little kids wandering around by themselves with no supervision being loud and unruly, there is dog poop everywhere, stuff gets stolen off your porch, at night all you hear is car alarms going off and I've heard gunshots; it defiantly isn't the safest place to live. I get scared walking from my car to the apt at night, the place is poorly lit with blown lights. If you like to go swimming or lay out at the pool, forget it - there is always a million people at the pool (over 95% of them don't live here) there is only 8 or so lawn chairs so usually you will have to sit on the cement. Kids are running around the pool, screaming and hollering. There isn't even enough room to get in the pool and cool off due to all the people crowding the pool who don't live in the complex which also leaves me without a place to park because the whole lot is full so I have to park way down the street and walk home.

There is also something in the lease where it says that no matter what is wrong around the complex or your apartment you CANNOT break your lease because of those problems. They want to trap you and get your money. DO NOT MOVE HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT!
