Prepare to pay $$$$ for Water ( over a year ago )

Reviewed by: Anonymous
I have lived in Spruce Run for 4 years now. I do like my apartment because it's very modern and neutral, however, they have incredibly high water bills and really offer no explanation why. For a two bedroom apartment with one bathroom, I live there full time but not on the weekends and my son lives there part time and we have water bills of $90/month. I AM NOT KIDDING. There are all sorts of little fees that the water billing company charges including a service fee for the billing, a service fee to pay your bill online or on the phone. There is a new City of Cleveland fee that was recently added. If you claim to have two people living in the apartment, you are automatically charged a higher sewer rate (a flat rate from what one of the reps told me). Maintenance does respond pretty fast. However, for years, we had issues with bugs entering the second bedroom windows and I think that was finally taken care of recently after the window leaked and started to flooded the bedroom. It took several maintenance calls after that but I think the window is fixed. The bugs still enter thru the screens because they are not a proper fit, so they caulked the screens in permanently. Somehow the bugs still enter. Parking is pretty tight by several buildings so it's better to get a garage but those are $35 for a half garage or $70 for a full garage. Watch out for which "view" you select because if you want a view of the pool, they used to charge more for that too.

I lived in Spruce Run Apartments for over 6 years and I have just moved out due to a job relocation. The apartment I lived in was great: perfect floor space for a single person (2 bedroom and one bath), all amenities, beautiful view, garage and all for a price you can't beat. Neighbors were courteous and I did not experience issues. The staff was very helpful and understanding to my situation: they accepted my short notice due to job relocation and also did not charge extra fees when I moved out. The maintenance team always responded very quickly to all requests. I added a job transfer clause to my lease (for a small monthly fee) and I was able to leave without paying any penalty and only with a 1 month notice. The location is great too (close to the Metroparks, Southpark Mall and major highways (I-80 and I-71)). Nothing to complain about - I wish I was still there!
