I've only lived here for 4 months (two bedroom), but so far I am very happy here. Before moving in I really doubted my decision because of all the horrible reviews here, but I knew two people who lived here who loved it and I thought it seemed fine so I went for it.

After I moved in I had a list of things I wanted fixed, so I requested them (online, which is very nice) all at once. Granted, it did take maintenance about a week to respond, but when he did come he was excellent. he fixed everything that I asked, plus a few extra things that he noticed while he was there. He was very nice and I was impressed. I also would like the think that if it had been anything urgent he would have come sooner.

A big complaint on here is bugs. I have had the occasional moth, especially since they all flock at the porch light, but it really hasn't been much of an issue at all. They also do bug treatments regularly and also any time you request one. I even live right next to the woods, so surely if they aren't bad for me they wouldn't be for others. Maybe some people just don't keep their apartments clean (or their neighbors don't... I don't know.

I do have to agree that the apartments aren't very sound-proof. I live upstairs, and can hear the people below me but ONLY because they seem to have a band and like to yell out of excitement when they play something they think was cool. That's really the only time I can hear them, and even that is pretty muffled, and it doesn't really bother me. I can only even hear that if it's silent- if the TV is on I completely don't notice. (I do wonder if they can hear everything I do, though) With the people behind me and next to me I can only hear the occasional toilet flush or shower running, but only if I am in the bathroom as well- it doesn't travel to any other part of the apartment. When you are in the living room you can very clearly hear people outside, that is the only time I really notice the noise.

The washer is also loud, there's many complaints about that here. However, it's only during the spin cycle and it doesn't last long, and honestly doesn't bother me much at all.

My electric bill has been VERY low, only about $30- even during the summer months. Granted, I was being very conscious of turning things off and unplugging, and even turning A/C off when not home, but I was still very surprised that it was so low. The A/C is very efficient and works instantly, so really it doesn't bother me at all to turn it off while I'm gone because it literally cools back down as soon as you turn it back on.

I hate that it's so expensive to have a pet, so I haven't gotten one. I do like that it's an option, though.

I also worry that when I move out they will be really picky about the condition of the place, however at the same time I don't because it wasn't perfect when I moved in (nothing that really bothered me, I'm just saying maybe they aren't overly picky). Also, one of my friends who lived here just moved out and she had lived there for a year with a big dog, and she said she spent about an hour cleaning before she left and they said everything looked perfect. I do know that according to reviews and my judgement of the staff it is definitely a good idea to get everything in writing (one of the staff members even told me that). However they all are pretty nice and helpful, and very personable.

I feel very safe here. I was worried that I wouldn't since I am living alone AND I have a fairly long walk to my apartment which is in the back (I have to walk around the back of the building, with woods behind it). I was a little worried that wasn't safe, however I really do feel perfectly fine and don't worry about it at all anymore.

I like the big walk in closets, kitchen is pretty big and nice, I think the rooms are perfect size (however to some they would be small). Nice porch and storage closet outside as well. I always have a parking spot right outside my building, except if it's late at night when everyone is home, then I just have to park across the road which is still very close.

Overall I've been VERY happy here. Anything wrong are just minor problems, and the good far outweighs the bad. It's a nice place, and the price is reasonable. There are a few places that are cheaper in Edmond, however there are also a lot that are a lot more expensive. I think these are probably the nicest for the best price.

Out of all the apartments i've ever lived at these are by far the nicest. They are older, but you would never know by how well they keep them up. The landscaping is awesome. You just need to check them out for yourself and you will see what i'm talking about.

I have lived in Oxford Oaks for a year and a half now and overall I am pleased with it. I love my apartment although I think it is extremely over priced. Maintance hasn't been the best from time to time I have had to call and harass the girls in the office to get someone out who will actually fix the problem (i.e., my air conditioner wasn't cooling the way it should have and the wood shelf that it sat on in the closet was damp, my roommate and I called and had them come out 3 times before they found out what was wrong. It took it leaking into my downstairs neighbors place for them to fix it completely.) On a positive note however, I have always felt safe and only heard of one real crime issue over the course of my residency. I would recommend it to a friend. <P>

If you want to live somewhere where Maintenance never fixes your problems this is the place. My nine month lease is almost up and I have yet to see a maintenance man in our apartment fixing things we requested when we first moved in. Other than that everything else is fairly average.
