Review for Ashley Park Apartments

Let's do a step-by-step breakdown.
1) Security: One night, a week night in fact, my neighbors decided to throw a big party. They were out in the parking lot in front of my apartment drinking, being loud, even doing illegal drugs in plain sight. I would have called security, but the security guy seemed a little busy sitting on MY car, smoking a crack pipe and fondling a clearly underaged drunk girl. I called the police instead - but they never showed up.

2) Parking: Actually pretty good. Even on a bad day I only have to park a few doors down.

3) Appearance: The only thing more prevalent on the grounds than "pick up your dog's poop!" signs is actual dog poop. Nobody curbs their pet, kids leave their toys in the middle of the walkways, hell someone even left a rotting couch outside for about five months before it finally got carted away. And I have an honest feeling that some homeless guy probably took that couch otherwise it would still be there.

4) Office Staff: Been here two years now, always pay rent in person to get a reciept, and yet the apartment manager still doesn't recognize me.

5) Maintenance: Two months ago my hot water heater went out. Around that same time my kitchen sink got clogged bad enough that Drain-o didn't do a darn thing to unstop it. Guess what? I'm still taking cold showers, and my sink is now filled with mold from the rotting food. I've even got a horrible case of roaches now because of the backed up sink. I've got about four leaks in my roof, one bad enough that chunks of ceiling have started falling to the floor. I've called maintenance about a dozen times for all of this. I even sent a letter to the apartment manager warning him that I was filing a lawsuit if the problem wasn't fixed within 48 hours. That was 48 hours ago, and I haven't seen one single maintenance man.

6) Condition of unit: There was crap caked into the carpet. The railing on the staircase is just sort of leaning there because it's not bolted down. I've got crayon drawings on the walls of one of the rooms. I even had a dead bird sitting in my bedroom on the window sill (on the INSIDE windowsill). These were just some of the things that I noted when I moved in.

7) Noise Level: Constant non-stop partying and/or domestic violence coming from both apartments around me. The upside is that nobody lives in those two apartments for very long so I ususally only have to put up with the noise for a few months before they skip out in the middle of the night and I can go back to blissful silence until the place gets rented out again.

8) Overall Rating: I've only lived here as long as I have because it is ridiculously close to my place of employment, and because I am a very easy-going individual who was willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt more often than not. But at this point myself, my wife, and even my dog are more than fed up with this crap.
