Review for Village At Stratford Apartments

Village at Stratford was a great place.
I've lived here for 5 years now. For a year now they sold it to other management company and it really turned bad in front of my eyes. Few examples: I had problem with leaking kitchen faucet. I mean it was spraying water if you try to use it, getting you all wet, it wasn't something small. After 5 times me and my roommate complained about it nothing was done in 2.5 months. That is from Dec 2 '08 to Feb 15 '09. Finally we had to call the head office in Tulsa and complain there. The faucet was fixed the very next day. Maintenance is TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!!!

Before, I would call if there was a problem and the guys would be here by the end of day fixing whatever the problem was, now you can forget about it. They even tell you: "we'll try to get somebody there by the end of the week". I think you may succeed more if you ask the maintenance guys(both of them) to do you a personal favor and come fix something. Otherwise you have to either fix it on your our or you're screwed to live with it.

The complex turned very noisy lately, ghetto type of music booming on the streets at any time of the day and night, while you're trying to rest or study. Police is frequently here "visiting" residents.

Gate is constantly broken, when they fix it it lasts about few days.

The staff in the office changes very frequently, I mean about every 2-3 months.

Mail room was vandalized some time ago, so better send your mail right before the mailman picks it up!

They provide about 4-5 little washer and dryer connections, which have no working machines in them or if some works you can't dry your clothes because dryers are all messed up and don't work, and you gotta drive 5 miles to the closest laundromat place.

I wanted for a long time to write a review and what finally inspired me to write this review today is that I'm without water already 5-6 hours and it is 7.18pm. How am I suppose to take shower or wash up? What if I had kids?

They lower their move-in specials frequently to get you to move-in, then they raise your lease every renewal with about $40.
Deposit of $35 will get you in here but that will be your biggest 1 year mistake of your life.

My lease is over in 3 months and after 5+ years I'm running away from this hole. Most likely everywhere else you go you'll get better service, conditions and treatment than here at the same or lower price ...and it was such a nice place once!

I totally agree with you, I just moved in to Village at Stratford in Feb. and I absolutly HATE it! When I moved in the indoor pool and hot tub was closed but I was assured it would be open in 3 weeks! Its still not open. I have many other complaints as well, I'm writing a review as well and I will tell everyone I know, DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!
