I have lived here for about a year and a half. Woodland Oaks is not a horrible place to live, but it's definitely not worth the price. While the apartments look great from the outside, the interior and the appliances are as outdated and cheap as possible. This includes the painted crumbling foundation, the "outdoor" carpet, and all fixtures. While maintenance does respond quickly, they don't really fix things, they just put NOTICEABLE band-aids on everything. Not only that, no matter what the problem, management/maintenance will try to find some absurd way to make it the tenant's fault. The staff is so nice and responsive BEFORE you rent, but once you move in, you are just a rent check. After that, they are just so nonchalant about everything. Sometimes they tell you that they will address an issue and just never follow up. The "fitness center" is a "hotbox" with two old treadmills, the first elliptical ever made, and a weight machine. Staff told me there was no way around me getting a house phone to let visitors in the gate (my cell is long distance) and that there was no code. Then, two months later, a NON-RESIDENT gave me the code. The gated entrance is definitely a false sense of security. Noise levels from surrounding apartments are higher than I expected, but tolerable I suppose. The complex is generally quiet though, and residents seem to feel safe walking, etc. at night. When it's time to renew your lease, expect more than average rent increases. Make sure to read your paperwork very carefully, because a lot of their terms are much different than those typically in a lease agreement. Overall, not a bad place, but for all of the shortcuts they take, the poor level of service, and the quality that you just aren't receiving...you can get a less expensive place for the same quality, or you can pay the same price for another apartment with the quality that Woodland Oaks claims to have.
