Apartment Review for Avondale Apartments

The grounds are kept immaculate by a 24-7 crew who blazes out to cut and poison things the instant the thunderstorm stops. Sadly, the apartments are not maintained AT ALL. Your dishwasher will not work, count on it. It also won't be fixed. If you call to report a problem, expect an hours arguement about how it is either not a problem, or your fault, or you are so stupid you don't know how to use a light switch. After numerous attempts to get a number of VERY minor problems fixed, I complained to the Health Department. The apartment manager called me and CHEWED ME OUT for calling in a third party! (The items were finally fixed, however) The next time I reported a problem, several times, I was promised repairs that never materialized. In return I recieved insults, including the demand that I fill out an application for government aid for the poor, despite the fact that my husband has a good job with a large company, making far too much to qualify, and we have NEVER been even one day late on the rent in a year.

Be aware, also, that they are now seeking funding through the governments slum lord loan. They need to have 20% of residents who are below poverty level. Basically, they plan to go all Section 8, I believe.

I have bad news for them. Since the government polices Section 8 apartments VERY closely, if they continue to fail to make repairs, they will lose that funding. And their plans for it? To repaint the OUTSIDE, not to repair or replace any of the problems inside the apartments.

Its all about pretentiousness & appearance.
