Review for Witham Hill Oaks Apartments

I lived here for two years. I did not like it for many reasons. I stayed out of convenience, and honestly, I learned my lesson.

1) Crappy apartments. The units are old and outdated. For the price you will pay here, go elsewhere. AFTER I moved across country I realized this...again, lesson learned. Really...they suck.

2) Gestapo-like management. Really...I am an adult. I am also 100% certain I am smarter and better equipped to handle life than the manager/owner. I don't need to be talked down to or threatened. I got that treatment from them more than once.

3)Maintenance is SLOW and CRAPPY. On multiple occasions they left packaging material and crap strewn about when they left. They told me that my leaky drain pipe didn't leak even though there was a small pool of water under it. I mean honestly...where is Charles Darwin to eliminate these genes from the gene pool??!! It took 2 days to repair the smoke alarm in my apartment AFTER they told me to buy a buy a battery and replace it myself. The smoke alarm!!!! I mean, really!

4) Yard/commons areas are horrible. First, there's animal crap that people don't clean up....a minefield! Second, they let the grass grow to 4" before cutting it. Tree limbs have fallen on my car twice because they don't trim the rotting branches as they should. And the trees themselves....if you like light in your apartment, most of these units are not for you. Very very dark/dingy.

The big three that sealed the deal and prompted me to write this review are parking, pee and charges.

The parking sucks after 8pm during the school year. They must over-sell parking passes because I can not find a spot after 8pm during school session. It's nuts! They give you these cute little passes and most of the cars don't have one.

When I moved into my apartment, the carpets smelled like pee. I realized this after unplugging the glade plug-in they had in the wall. After filling out a "request for maintenance" TWICE, I told them they needed to clean it or replace them. They "cleaned them." 22 spots in all. How did they miss that?!!! Over the course of me staying there, more spots came up through the padding and the place still smelled like piss. They wouldn't clean them again.

Finally I moved.

I got a bill for two small carpet bleach stains (which, admittedly, were there, but very small), and rust stains from my couch....which would not have been there if the carped hadn't needed to be cleaned.

Bottom line. There ARE better places in Corvallis. There ARE better places in Corvallis. There ARE better places in Corvallis!!!

Help put this place out of business by not renting and not renewing your lease.
