Apartment Review for Highland View Apartments

We lived at Highland View for over 4 years. In that time, we dealt with 4 equally horrible managers: Krystal, Margarita, Evelyn and Andreas. Evelyn Molina was the absolute worst.

The owner of the property is Marilyn Denham. She heads up the LLC she formed so she is not personally sued. This property is managed by Images Property Management, in Clackamas, Oregon. This company is owned by Marilyn Denham.

Management is extremely ignorant of Oregon Landlord/Tenant laws and makes repeat violations. Tenant complaints go ignored. Phone calls are not returned. The after hours maintenance emergency phone number is frequently disconnected. Carpeting in many of the units is the ORIGINAL CARPETING, and this complex was built in 1990. The property is falling apart and is filthy. Tenants let their children run wild and unsupervised at all hours of the night, even on school nights. Management does nothing about it.

If you like having your power pop off several times per month; or have management turn off the water to the entire complex with no warning, then this is the place for you. If you live on the first floor, be prepared for your upstairs neighbors to throw trash and cigarette butts down into your yard and patio. The insulation between units is a joke, so if you live downstairs and your upstairs neighbors have children who are running around the apartment and jumping up and down on the floor, be prepared to go crazy. And naturally, management does nothing about it. Any noise violations, they tell you to call the Gresham Police Department. The Gresham Police Department says to talk to the manager. It's a vicious cycle.

Oh - and a child was burned to death in this complex by other children who live there. The other children set him on fire with a lighter when he was playing outside with them. There is a pyromaniac who lives on site and management does not warn anyone.

This is a horrible, dangerous place to live with ignorant management who does nothing to help you. And, the owner of the complex admits she gives deep rent discounts to her "favorite tenants." So, you might be paying $750 or more for the exact same apartment someone else is paying $650 for.
