some good, some bad ( 08/06/2012 )

I've lived in a 3rd floor unit for 3 years. I love the vaulted ceiling, which makes the unit very bright (although hot in the summer.) The former managers were unprofessional and didn't prepare the unit properly (poor caulking, original carpet, broken trim, etc), but overall the unit is nice, and it is now managed much more professionally. However, when I found myself on short-term disability and my checks delayed, I explained what was going on and they filed for eviction when I was less than 1 month late (is that even LEGAL?) and charged me a late fee PLUS $125 filing fee.
I love that there are a variety of cultures here - used to have an East Indian family next door, Asian/Americans below, black, white and Hispanic all in one small complex. (I LOVED when the Asian grandpa wished me Happy Cinco de Mayo!) BUT - my grown sons hate visiting, due to the neighborhood. (They tell me I'm living in the ghetto.) It can be noisy in the summer with people hanging around in the parking lot at night, and I don't walk after dark by myself. Actually, it's always noisy - the train tracks across the street (and they do blow their horn for the cross roads up ahead), and in the flight path of the airport. Moving next month to a more convenient location.

Has room for much improvement. New tenants should never be subject to a unit that has not been fully recovered from pet damage. Especially urine stains.
