Positive Apartment Reviews and Ratings
Compared to others, it's a cakewalk ( over a year ago )

Ok, so I've been reading a lot of reviews for a lot of apartments on this site and I have to say, compared to the pics and complaints I've seen, it's practically nirvana. Also, I have been to A LOT of apts between ones I've rented and ones my friends have rented and the complaints that I have seen so far about this place are nothing compared to others or are things that are typical with being in an apt complex in general. I'm sure if we all had twice the money we do to spend on rent, we would have lovely and perfect experiences...
Negatives? yes, the parking is less than ideal after 10 pm. There have been multiple occasions when I have either had to park on the complete other side of the complex or had to circle around for awhile waiting for someone to leave. BUT at almost every other complex I have been to, the parking is FAR worse. As in 12 spots for a 100 apt complex or every spot being reserved so you have to have a permit of which they will only give you one. Oh and the SUPER long driveway is a pain during the icy winter.
Positives? Noise hasn't been a problem. I don't ever feel uncomfortable walking across the lot when its late. The Office Staff has always been great. We've only had one maintenance problem and it wasn't a big deal. New carpet when we moved in. These are older apts but aside from looking a little old school, they are not in bad shape. I also love the double master bedroom layout for my roommate and I. Our own bathrooms and no fight over who gets the bigger closet. It is what sold us in the first place.
Quite frankly, after reading the dozens of reviews that I have for every single other complex on this site, I am a little frightened to move like I was planning (though only for commute reasons, Barnes Rd at rush hour is a disaster).

I moved from one apartment to another and was given new carpets and appliances. I would say that all of my needs have been met and then some. It is close to downtown and nestled in a quiet wooded area. The staff is very attentive to my needs. I love it here.

The first most complaint I have about this place is the amount of parking they provide and the lack of enforcement/planning to ensure everyone gets a parking spot. Don't ever count on having a place to park if you arrive past 10pm unless you pay more for a reserved spot or a garage. This makes having guests over nearly impossible. Also, if you temporarily park where you shouldn't, they have tow trucks patrolling the area and will tow your car as fast as they can without giving you warning, leaving you with a $300 charge. The management doesn't seem to care about this, and in fact, likes to just say "it's the rules". What about the service that they should provide to their tenants to ensure parking IS NOT AN ISSUE?
If I ever need anything repaired in the unit, they are ALWAYS FAST to come fix it. They've been absolutely wonderful at responding to anything I have needed fixing.
Noise is a huge issue for me. Our unit gets a lot of traffic by it and the windows let through a majority of the sound. And with kids these days and their booming stereo systems and noisy mufflers, good luck staying asleep at 3:00am. Management has not enforced sound rules for vehicles. This is something they should be doing. No stereos playing in cars between 9pm and 9am. No racing noisy muffler cars during the same hours.
The units themselves are always kept clean on the outside and my guests (if they can find parking) have always said how nice of a place it is.
Overall, I am not satisfied with Golf Creek Apartments. They seem to be great at doing specific things for their tenants, but absolutely NOTHING in other areas (noise, parking). These are things that they can improve if they actually TRIED. If those things are not an issue for you, then i'd definitely suggest living there. They are nice, but I wish they would do MORE for the near $1,000/month that I pay them.

- It's over half a mile up steep hills to get to the main road & bus stop from the office.

- Walking is particularly dangerous at night, because the street has no sidewalk and is poorly lit and drivers frequently speed.

- There is a stop sign at the bottom of a hill on a sharp turn that drivers rarely stop at.

- There is a very tight blind hairpin curve.

- Path can be slippery & icy in the winter.
