Review for Georgetown Apartments

As a prospective tenant at Georgetown things looked pretty good. After living there for a year I can see it is a different story. The year round heated pool is always kept at a temperature too cold to swim in, even when it's the hottest part of the summer! Nothing changed after multiple complaints written and verbal. All the equipment in the workout room is broken other than the free weights. The ping pong table has no balls or paddles, the pool tables have two sets of balls that combined do not equal one complete set. I specified the move in date. I was getting married and after the honeymoon was to come home to move into my new apartment. I showed up two days late and the apartment still was not ready! While finishing up the paperwork she changed the rent from $545, which was the advertised rate on the internet, to $575, what was I to do I needed a place to move into. The old 60's stove which furnished our kitchen only had one burner that worked properly and all the buttons would stick. I put a request in writing to fix my stove the first week there and for the whole year no change:( The carpet was ripping at the seams and horrendously dirty..it looked cleaner when we steam cleaned it at move out. Lots of children running around cursing and yelling at all hours of the night in the summertime up to 1-2 a.m. The first manager had us towed from the parking lot, illegally. There are only 5 guest spots and we were told office parking is permissible after hours which it was...2a.m. The end office spot, which was poorly marked, was apparently off limits. Through talking to lawyers they reimbursed us for all towing fees. Not to mention the parking spots barely fit a car. The second manager is a lot more personable and the maintenance man is great when he actually gets the request from the manager. The rent is pretty cheap but not worth the trouble.
