Meadowlake has changed ownership seveal times. The building is over 30 years old and the electrical wiring is hazzardous; there have been several fires due to that reason. Management is unprofessional. The downstairs units flood randomly, water runs up out of the toilette bowl and tub drain at random or from the floor boards. Big mold problem, due to water leaks. The ceiling fell in on a tenant in 2006. There are multiple cracks in the foundation. The Caln Building code unit lets them get away with everything. The electricity is sky high ($259-$369/month). Also, upon renewal of your lease your rent might be raise from $40-$200. Moreover, the landlord makes it extremely difficult for you to move out, because they want you continually lock into some sort of lease, even, after the first year of tenancy. The lease terms is onerous. Read your lease carefully! They want each tenant to carry $300,000 insurance to covet the tenant and landlord. The downstairs apartments windows leak air like the window is open in the cooler months. Sometimes water will come in through certain pation windows. The apartments are very small. There appears to be mites (especially dust), spiders and other insects, black mold in vents and in the bathroom shower and ceiling areas. If you try to take them to court you will never win, they are friends with the current magistrate. Maintenance is lowsy and unsanitary. In 2006 a teenage girl was raped on the property by a tenant. You will be affraid to empty your trash at night, a teenager, in 2006, committed suicide by the one (1) dumpster that is for the entire complex. Most people carry their trash in the trunk of their car to empty it. Before you move in, please question the tenants. Also, you will need insulated draperies on your windows, if you live in any downstairs unit. The mini blinds are not sufficient for privacy.
