The area is populated with restaurants that will suit many palates: Fuji San Japanese Restaurant is right outside the building, Chickie's and Pete's Cafe serves up anything from crab fries to mussels, and Fat Jack's BBQ offers tantalizing pulled pork. There are also several parks and recreational facilities in the neighborhood like Benjamin Rush State Park and Philmont Country Club. A 2008 reviewer complained about unexplained fees, while a 2009 tenant raved about new appliances and a responsive maintenance team; perhaps current tenants are satisfied with Haldeman Manors. 1300 Chestnut is located in the heart of downtown Philadelphia in Midtwon Village. The vibrant city neighborhood has a lot to offer, especially with must-try restaurants just outside the building: Lolita serves delicious Mexican food in a luxurious setting, El Vez is known for the blood orange margaritas and is always buzzing with business, and Barbuzzo offers an eccentric selection of Mediterranean dishes. Shopping is also just a stroll from the apartment with Liberty Place less than half a mile away housing retail shops and specialty stores, Macy's just down the street, and several artisanal stores in the area. Canterbury is nestled in a beautiful neighborhood outside of the city. The location is prime for commuters because the SEPTA station is a just step from the building. Less than half a mile away on Germantown Avenue is a hub of exciting eateries: Earth Bread + Brewery serves up unique pizzas, InFusion offers vegan and vegetarian options as well as poetry slam nights, and Umbria Restaurant has an eclectic menu and "service fit for royalty." A 2012 review claims that the location is perfect, especially for those who work in the city but would rather live outside of the hustle and bustle. The neighborhood is populated with several outstanding schools, including Green Woods Charter School, Walter B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences, and Immaculate Heart of Mary School. The building conveniently resides moments away from the SEPTA station as well as City Avenue, which houses several convenience stores and shopping departments including Target, Rite Aid, and Lord & Taylor. The building is situated less than a mile from Saint Joseph's University and provides excellent housing for college students at an affordable price. Restaurants in the area worth checking out include The Tomato Bistro, Zesty's, and the Trolley Car Cafe - all located less than 3 miles away. Shopping for the home and family is convenient with Walmart, Target, and Home Depot all within 2 miles from the building. Dining options are also abundant in the area with a wide range of options including Hummingbird Diner that serves up Jamaican cuisine, New Perfect Pizza - a local favorite pizzeria, and Trolley Car Diner & Deli that is known for having an excellent beer selection. Many SEPTA stations are just down the street from the apartment, making the commute extremely simple. A fair amount of the reviewers have only praised Delaire Landing for the professional management staff, friendly neighbors, and the beautiful property.
