My Two Cents

I have read all the reviews. Some of them i do agree with. I have been here for 2 years and 9 months. I am going to post all of the good and bads things i like or don't like about this place, just so that people who are interested in living here get both sides, and can make a better judgement when they visit this place. It is very pretty in the spring and summer. millions of flowers and trimmed grass. The recent "updating" is nice, but the "art" is a little bizarre for my taste. I have very quiet neighbors which I really appreciate, but my apartment is always loud with tv, music, or my dogs. And I am so grateful they put up with it. The trains are tolerable, the loud "bang" that is described will awaken you from the deepest sleep of your lifetime and scare you half to death. It happens when the train is at a standstill and it first moves. The first car moves, pulling the second one forward and then the next and so forth all along the entire train at a very fast rate. Hence, making a loud "bang" or even an "explosion" type sound. You get used to it. There is no store, and I doubt ever a dead body. The closets are big! There was a pool built, but it is not for all, only those who pay the $700/yr membership fee to swim, and mind you it's outdoors and can only be used between, late may and mid september. That was an extremely stupid decision that was! Being close to Rt76 and Rt95 is EXTREMELY helpful, BUT we are less than a mile from The Link, Citizens Bank Park, the Spectrum, and Comcast center. So during football season, EVERY sunday at-home Eagles game there is traffic before and after the game and it lasts for hhhooooooouuuuuurrrrrrssssssss along Pattison Ave. Same goes for Phillies games, and huge concerts. Now..... There ARE roaches in the summer, especially if you live on the first floor, but hey this is a city. They run around the streets in center city at night too. The office has sent exterminators in to spray several times since I've been here, and it's been under control to a point. The stray cats are VERY annoying, but maybe they do keep away rats and mice, I've never seen either. People speed through the front drive, and the back parking lot. They drive AROUND the speed bumps, too. ASSHOLES! I have seen many, many random golfballs fly in from the golf course. And I have seen broken windshields and car windows. i feel that the fire alarms work very good, and i'm glad they went off with the last 2 fires. It was very scary, since I live along the back parking lot and I didn't know there was a real fire. They had us wait at the enclaves office place until it was taken care of. both the maintenence and security are very nice. and I've always had problems fixed in efficient time. Like when my bathroom ceiling collapsed because the toilet above was leaking for hours. But it's NOT a 24 hours service. My AC leaked in the summer and it took a few days to be checked out. Janice is VERY nice, not sure of the other 2 ladies. the washers and dryers are terrible. the dryer NEVER dries your clothes. It costs $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry, but you always have to pay more just to dry your clothes. It's frustrating. If you don't have a car and you take SEPTA, it's a nightmare. The schedule for the 68 is extrememly limited, but the BSL is close enough to walk is needed.
