Apartment Review for Alden Park

the place has great potential, but right now is under bad management. They only spend money when they absolutely have too, and have no regard for the tenents. Case in point, they will test fire alarms at will for HOURS without prior notice, as well as suspend water service (again, for hours) without notice. Last summer, during the worst of the heat (90 degrees +), we had no AC for nearly 2 weeks, while claiming on a day to day basis that it would be back tomorrow. After this incident, they claimed to be replacing the cooling towers in the fall after the worst of the heat .... today we received a memo that the have JUST ORDERED the new cooling towers and AC is off until the are received and install in mid to late May. We are expecting 80 degree heat later this week and there are only casement windows, no chance for window units here! I expect after they finally have spent the money, that this place will go condo or co-op, so it is best to stay away. <P>
