I made a bad choice!

The units are relatively new & have beautiful hardwood floors plus lofts - I fell in love. But I've fallen out of love pretty quickly. The beautiful floors aren't insulated, so I can hear every sound my downstairs neighbor makes. Sound also bounces around in the outdoor courtyard, which amplifies the problem. Maintenance is shoddy - there is clearly mold growing on ceiling tiles in the hallway & rather than cleaning it then replacing the tiles, they are just occasionally sprayed with white paint to try to cover it up. People constantly move in and out of this place & I've heard lots of complaints from other tenants. There's been a recent rash of graffiti in the elevators and hallways & there have been thefts of mail. I had to discontinue my newspaper delivery because it was stolen repeatedly (someone would even take it out of the plastic bag marked with my apartment number and leave the bag inside the front door of the building). Sadly, the maintenance staff and owner are full of excuses, not solutions. For rents over $1,200, this is unacceptable. <P>
