Great apartment--very happy ( 02/26/2013 )

Reviewed by: Anonymous
My boyfriend and I are medical students at UPenn and moved into the Old Quaker during the summer of 2012 and have been happy with our decision ever since. These apartments are spacious and well maintained and the units come with a washer/dryer and a dishwasher and electric appliances. Countertops are granite and the units have a lot of character--wood ceilings and brick lined windows (or walls in some units) and the units have very high ceilings (about 11 feet) and huge windows which makes them feel very large. They also have central air which is nice during the summer. The maintenance staff is very friendly and helpful--the one time I had a problem, he was at our apartment within two hours and fixed it immediately. Management is very professional and helpful and the building comes with a small gym (cardio machines). It also has enough parking for residents (extra $110 per month). The rent is a bit high but reasonable when square footage is considered (my unit is 910 sq ft). These apartments are perfect for couples and are within easy walking distance of UPenn and Drexel. Neighbors in the building are not noisy (no loud undergraduate parties ever), however it is located near a college campus and a hospital so occasionally people can be heard outside making noise on weekends or sirens can be heard on their way to Presby. The noise really is minimal though so I would absolutely recommend Old Quaker to anyone and I plan to resign my lease for next year.
