Words cannot describe how truly bad my experience with Halsband was. The repairs - if ever made - are makeshift and often times more harmful. Herbert and his daughter, Sheri, are the most unprofessional rude realtors I have deal with. The staff are incompetent and just as impolite as the owners. To state that the apartments are poorly kept and cheaply maintained would be a gross understatement. In fact, my apartment was such a health hazard I could not even stay my full year lease. Beyond water damage, mold, a broken fridge, and holes in the building's structure, I was forced to deal with a classic Halsband "oops" - a fix that left my apartment (and a neighbor's) covered in soot that spilled out of our "sealed" fireplaces. Not only did I have to do all the cleanup myself, but I was left with a garbage bag duct taped to the fireplace opening for weeks. After 4 months of the carpets not being shampooed, the fireplace never being fixed (soot still spilling out), and my apartment never being thoroughly cleaned Sheri and Herbert had the nerve to scream, curse, and threaten to sue me because I simply wanted out. They still have yet to return my security and pet deposits and I am sure they have no intention of doing so. I cannot caution any potential renter enough - these are not people with which to do business.
