I'm relieved to see that so many other people have had the same issues with JLB that i encountered.
1. my apartment as well as a neighbors apartment was broken into as well as another attempted breakin at another apartment. after complaining to JLB that there were no deadbolts on the apartment doors, that the front door did not close securely they refused to fix the problem. only after repeated phone calls and threats did they come and finally put deadbolts on all apartment doors. when i returned home i found that my apartment smelled of cigarette smoke and there were cigarettes in the toilet.
2. a lot of false charges were listed on my security deposit refund (of which we recieved maybe half) including light bulbs needing to be replaced and a broken window that were just fine when i moved out.
3. they repeatedly entered my apartment without my consent or prior notification to show it.
4. i encountered pictures of my apartment (including my personal belongings) on craigslist without my consent and was given major attitude when i request that Meredith remove them.
5. it took several months for them to respond to our repair requests including one involving a broken stove. when they did respond to the request they did not fix it and instead said it appeared to be working just fine. it was not.
6. we were told upon signing the lease that the apartment would be painted before we moved in to cover up a big water stain on the ceiling and livingroom wall. it never was.
i have had my fair share of horrible landlords but this company was by far the worst. and the only company i ever desired to take to court. of course after all the hastle i went through while i lived there i didnt feel like dealing with them anymore after i moved out and decided to save myself the stress. i would STRONGLY urge you to look elsewhere. DO NOT LET THE REASONABLE PRICES CONVINCE YOU TO MOVE IN. there are MUCH better places for comparable prices.
