1st....I will go out on a limb and say that those few reviews (written in a very similar tone and I would not be surpised by the same person) praising JLB are written by their employees.
Let's suppose those reviews are from a 'real' tenant...I'm sorry but you don't get a gold star or praise in my book just for doing what people pay you do in the 1st place!! Landlords are supposed to maintain landscaping, replace broken appliance, fix broken windows, etc. Doing the basic maintenance you promise tenants you'll do as part of a lease is not a reason for praise. However, in my miserable experience with JLB, they don't even do the basics...they ignore you unless they want $$$$.
I'm not a huge girly-girl and pretty easy to please....but call me crazy that I wanted to have some of the basics like running water, heat, salted walks, cleaned apartment upon move-in, etc.
It's very convenient that the poster below is 'moving' to Boston and I'm sure will not be able to be reached again. I can understand as a poor undergrad criticizing your landlord why you'd want your post anonymous...but if making a 'legit' positive posting, why hide your name?
