I've lived in a Saniel-Elkind apartment (Phillips Ave) for nearly 2 years and it's been fine. I don't know what happened with the other reviewers, but Carol and the office staff have been very nice to me, and my apartment has been fine.
I pay the rent in full, on time, every time. I'm courteous. I'm quiet. I'm low-maintenance - I've never needed anything major to be fixed, only minor things (i.e. unclogging the bathtub drain once, since we aren't allowed to use liquid drain openers ourselves). Nothing else has broken.
Maybe it's just me, and maybe I've just been lucky. But I haven't encountered ANY of the horrors described by other reviewers here.
