Our Review for Greenbriar Village

A quiet setting, with great convenience to downtown, and the Pittsburgh International Airport. With many sizes, and floor plans available, these apartments offer many amenities and appliances. Rent ranges about $745-$1340. One downside about the apartment is that the parking options aren’t as strong, but the property seems spacious so hopefully finding a place to park isn’t too difficult. I love it here. The maintainence crew responds quickly and takes care of anything that comes up. They were right on top of snow removal this winter. I feel very safe and secure. The only draw back in that I have neighbors next door that are very loud and inconsiderate of others, but that is not the complex's fault. I am very happy here and plan on staying for several years to come.

I have lived at Greenbriar for the past few years and and am still living here. I have had mostly a positive experience. In the first year I was here, they replaced the ugly wood siding with vinyl which went a long way to update the look of the place. The pool is a wonderful feature in the summertime. It is never very crowded and there is always a lifeguard on duty. The exercise room is okay. The treadmills are the only thing really worth using in there.

The repairs are prompt, but they are often haphazard. I have had my sink "fixed" on three separate occasions for the same problem. They did finally replace the piece, but they tried to make due with the old one for far too long. However, when my microwave ceased to function it was immediately replaced with a nice new one. Also, when my wallpaper in the kitchen was damaged, they replaced it immediately.

The parking situation is fairly good. There are large lots and I have always found a spot to park. At night, the lights are pretty dim though so I have often felt a little spooked when coming in late at night.

There is no security in the buildings besides your own door locks. However, I have never had any problems and have never heard of anyone else having them either. There was an incident last month where the washing machines were all destroyed when someone broke into them to steal all the quarters.

The noise control is a bit of a problem. The walls are very thin. If you have quiet neighbors, you luck out. However, if you are like me and live above people with screaming children, you are in for a bit of annoyance.

The apartment itself is lovely. It has a huge kitchen, a nice size bathroom, and two good sized bedrooms. The living room fits a dining room set and a couch and entertainment center without feeling crowded. The balcony is wonderful! From where my apartment is, I sit on the balcony and all I can see is forest. It is lovely to have such a nice view so close to the city.

In the end, I would recommend this place to a friend. Despite its problems, I think it is a great place to live. My husband and I will always look back on this apartment fondly when moving to a house next year.
