Review for Trends Capital Llc Apartments

I have only lived in this apartment for a few months but Trends Capital is by far the WORST landlord I have EVER had to deal with. You cannot call the office, you only connect to an answering service who takes your info but you NEVER get a call back. The maintainance guys are really nice and helpful but there are only 2 guys for 300 apartments! Needless to say expects to wait WEEKS for any kind of repair, whether it is minor or causing an life and threatening pandemic. Jason Cohen is incredibly rude, will not take calls and is the definition of a Napoleon complex.

Other tenants in my building have had far worse experiences than I, read the following problems:
-charged a late rent fee (and recived a magistrate hearing) when Trends cashed the rent check DAYS before the due date
-Trends has NEVER cleaned the stairs/hallway. EVER. It's f'in gross.
-constantly broken washing machine and dryer
-NOTHING was clean when I moved in, nothing. I hope you like filth!
-There are only 6 parking spots, yet Trends seems to rent single spots to multiple tenants, so I guess its first come, first serve for parking each day?
-There is litter and trash EVERYWHERE outside.
-Water damage (ie molded carpets, walls, etc) was not only never replaced, it wasn't even cleaned! I feel like I may die from the black lung everytime i go into the basement! Rest assured that if you complain about this you'll either die or move out (if you even moved in to begin with) before you get a response let alone a solution.
-The whole building water was shut off b/c Trends didnt pay the bill.
-The heat didnt work for 3 weeks at the end of Fall.
-"the heat is included in the rent!" -Meredith... Um, no, sorry meredith, the heat is electric, and tenants pay the electric, so I should deduct this off my rent, correct? Whats this? Another magistrate summons? (how odd!)
-They will come in without notice (see other user comments)... I dont know how you feel about having strangers walk through your house without your knowledge but I was thrilled!!! /sarcasm/

The bottom line is they seem very nice when they show the apartment, they are prompt and answer their mobile phones, but as soon as you sign your soul away on that lease the apartment might as well be in in communist Ukraine, b/c thats the kind of quality and service you get. This business has changed its name three times in 8 months, you figure out why...

The one redeeming quality of the apartment is the location is nice, but dont let this entice you, 5855 Darlington is like a slice of Havana in Squirrel Hill.

BEWARE, Id rather live in live in a cardboard box than have to deal with Jason, Meredith and the rest of the incompetent Trends crew for another minute. Rest assured I'll be heading to court over this sooner or later... so save yourself the headache and STAY AWAY from these criminals!
