I recently moved out of Stoneworth after 14 months and cannot say a single bad word about the apartment or the property manager. Apartment was clean when I moved in and was extremely quiet. Well built apartments with thick walls, did not hear any noise at all. Mark is a great guy, always available on the phone and friendly on all occasions. Not your typical college apartment complex, heard not one party, Mark does a great job of keeping out riff/raff and provides a safe, secure, quiet place to live. I have moved into a house or would still be there. I would recommend Stoneworth to anybody, location close to 79 was a big factor for me. I also received my security deposit in a timely fashion, appreciate that as well.

This place is quite decent, and Im enjoying this place pretty well. The apartments are pretty nice, the ones I live in our pretty small but it works really well if you are just by yourself. I cant complain about the rent either its, im a poor college student and i am able to afford it. The neighbors are nice if you catch them outside, everyone is pretty fast around here, so if you dont want to be lonely knock on a door and introduce your self. The manager is pretty chill, he lives on the grounds so hes pretty quick to respond if you ever have anything go wrong.

I've only been living here since August 1st 2012 but so far everything has gone wonderfully. The apartments are spacious and quiet for the studious students who want to excel in college or their job and want to make the most of their time. I generally feel for the price the apartment sets a very high standard which I haven't found other apartments are able to compare to.

The apartment manager has been very helpful and has been able to answer all my questions. This is my first time living alone and he has gone above and beyond what he had to do in order to be a manager in regards to helping me out.

I am hoping that next year I will have the money to move into the larger second floor apartments that are being built. Even if I don't though I plan on staying here no matter what because of the environment as well as the helpfulness of the manager.

I'd recommend this place to anyone I know who is planning on living in the area.

i stayed at stoneworth for about a year.. i liked my apartment in general but the only thing i had a problem with were stains on the floor in the bathroom and i got a couple of spiders around my door during the warmer seasons. it is air condtioned and heated but the entire floor is tiled which can be really cold during the winter. the other thing that bothered me was the fan in the bathroom, everytime you turned on the bathroom light a really loud fan would start. It was on the same switch as the light so there was no way of turning it off. when i got there it was clean but according to some people when they arrived their apartment was not clean and ready to move in. Mark is a nice guy but he doesnt keep track of things well what so ever. I understand that he has a lot of rooms rented out to people but it has taken a long time to get back to you and even though you talk to him all the time he doesnt see to remember anything you guys talked about. I liked my apartment for the most part

As a non-traditional student, Stoneworth Apartments was the perfect fit. Mark is meticulous about his apartments and groundskeeping. In my opinion, the location is ideal since it is right next to I-79 and a quick drive to campus. Mark was more than accomodating to my individual needs. If it weren't for graduating, I would still be living there. Hands down the best value and living experience in the Grove City/ Slippery Rock area!

I didn't need anything special and these apts although small was fine for me. I had no problems at the complex and the manager Mark was always working at providing a good environment for the residents.

I’ll start off my saying Stoneworth is a pretty nice place to live. My girlfriend and I lived there during the spring 2011 semester and only chose to move to a different apartment due to space. With two different class schedules sharing one room as a living room/bedroom was not ideal. Mark (the owner) did up-charge us for having two people in one apartment but it was only 75 dollars which still made rent far more affordable than our other options. I think I kind of walked into up-charge though(I asked if it was more for two people). If anyone plans to share their apartment you may be able to get out of paying more by either not mentioning price or negotiating.

Do keep in mind these are studio apartments so they are small. We however managed to get a slightly larger handicap accessible unit that had room for a large ‘L’ desk, a pullout couch, a tv stand and enough room to put down a queen sized memory foam mattress as a bed in-between the couch and the entertainment center (we stored it behind the couch during the day). They are also pretty nice inside. Mark did a good job prepping our apartment for move-in. I was half expecting to see stained floors, patched up walls, old cabinets but everything inside was very nice and looked like quality materials were used. The same cannot be said for half the other “affordable” apartments around slippery rock(SRU Tower and campus heights). You also get the option to have a fully or partially furnished apartment. We chose to use all of our own stuff but from what I saw of the furniture that Mark provides they are pretty nice. They’re still mostly particle-board but he does a good job of maintaining them. Also mark provides you with a fridge, microwave and electric stove but the stove DOES NOT have an oven. So if you like to bake, you are out of luck.

These are pretty quiet apartments. There was only one instance where I remember hearing ANYTHING from any of our neighbors and that was at 3am when the guy next to us was having a rather heated argument on the phone. I suspect we only heard it because there were no other noises what so ever at that hour. You do however hear EVERYTHING going on outside; Neighbors jiggling their keys, the garbage truck, the snow blower, the occasional drunken idiot. This also means you can hear pretty much anything going on in any of the apartments when you are outside their door. Walking down to the dumpster to take out the trash I could hear TV’s, dishes being done, chit chat, etc etc. Basically, you can’t really hear what’s going on in any of the apartments while in your apartment but you can hear whatever is going on outside and vice versa.

The only utilities you pay are water/sewage/trash which is a fixed rate. So no matter how much you use, you are charged the same. Electric, cable and internet are included. It is only basic cable but it’s still 60 some channels of free cable and the internet I found to be very usable. I do a good bit of online gaming and other internet related thing and had no problems with bandwidth.

These apartments are heated and air conditioned. Both ends of the spectrum are very nice, so don’t think just because you don’t pay electric that he only lets you set your temperatures to just within a comfortable range. The units themselves do only go up and down so much but its more than enough to start a sweat or to need a hoodie. If you aren’t sharing one of these with someone you probably won’t have to worry about hot water but if by some chance you are like I was do keep in mind the hot water tank is SMALL. I take rather long hot showers and was able to get what I wanted out of one tank but if my g/f was up before me and took a shower, even if I waited for her to finish doing her hair, get dressed, put makeup on and head out for her classes I only got about 10 minutes of semi hot water. I think Mark said it takes about 20 minutes to fully recharge the tank but I suspect it was probably something closer the 45 minutes to an hour.

Parking is also free and anyone coming to visit won’t have to worry about getting towed which I cannot say for any other place around slippery rock. They either want your guests to check in, get a parking pass during office hours (which are not ideal) or park ridiculously far away. I also never had a problem getting a parking spot at my building.

Mark is a good guy and comes off as very willing to help you out by talking about how he cuts deals to other people all the time; letting them out of their leases, refunding their full deposit despite damages and things like that, but there are a few things you should be aware of.

We did not get off on the right foot. Mark seems a little disorganized and didn’t make a few things clear when we were signing the lease. The first thing you should know is that when you sign your lease, you are not signing for any specific apartment. We were not told this and were under the impression that we had signed for one of the handicap accessible apartments which as I said before are a little bit bigger. We called ahead as suggested to let Mark know when we were going to move in. He told me no problem and he would be ready. When we got up there, which was in the middle of winter and freezing mark told us the apartment we thought we were getting wasn’t ours and it was just a show. This is a common mistake when signing for apartments but due to some of the meetings I’ve had with other landlords around slippery rock and some of the stories of the things landlords try and pull on you I got a little irritated right off the bat. When we asked what apartment we were getting Mark said he didn’t know which irritated me more. At this point Mark explained his move-in procedure, which was never outlined for us when signing the lease. What he does is you come in, view some apartments, sign your lease and when move-in time comes mark puts you in whatever apartment is available. I however made it very clear that the only reason we signed the lease was because he said we could have one of the larger handicap accessible apartments. So to accommodate this he had us come up a few days later so he could have one ready. This was a bit annoying because we had loaded all our stuff up into two vehicles so we could get it all moved in with help in one day. So yea keeping in mind some of the other reviews it seems Mark may have a habit of pushing back move-in dates and you may not get to move-in when your lease officially starts but I think if what he says he does for other people is true then it’s kind of offset if you need him to cut you a break. After our move-in misunderstanding we had no problems with Mark. He always answered his phone; he was always available to come down to the office and always friendly.

Some of the other reviews do complain about bugs and I won’t lie, we did seem to see a lot of spiders (all the same species odd enough) but you have to keep in mind that this isn’t in the middle of town. Stoneworth is setback into the woods a bit and every home has spiders and bugs, it’s just you don’t likely see them due to excess space. With a studio apartment there aren’t too many places for spiders to hide so you are gonna run into them if they are there. Really there’s little you can about that aside from dusting around the corners often enough.

And that is pretty much it. Stoneworth is a good place to live if you wish to live by yourself and are on a budget. If I come back for grad school after this year I may just sign a lease at Stoneworth again if I’m by myself. There are some ups and downs but every place has those, Stoneworth less so than a lot of other places around campus. Don’t mess up the place and you shouldn’t have a problem getting your whole security deposit back. We got ours but we also left the apartment in the same shape it was in when we got it and even cleaned every inc h of it the day we moved out.

The landlord is very attentive and helps out whenever he can. He's talkative, but I have never had problems with him coming into my place as other people have said.

The parking is excellent, it's super quiet (sometimes too quiet). I wish the other tennants were a bit more social, but what do you expect in a complex full of people who want to live alone. The space is small, but not too small. I live here with my infant and there is enough room for both of us, not to mention all of the things that a baby needs. I feel very safe here, I wouldn't have my son in a place that I didn't think was safe.

The price is excellent, unless you want to move to Butler, or share an apartment with a roommate, you won't find a cheaper price anywhere. Not all of the furniture is high quality, but it does what it's supposed to do. I like that I only have to deal with one payment (Internet) other than rent. Soon it will be only $8.00 for high speed internet instead of $30 or so through Armstrong.

I didn't look at many apartments before I came to SRU, mostly because I didn't have much luck with any of them. One landlord told me that she rented only to boys; another didn't return my phone call. I was just about to give up on graduate school when I found Stoneworth Apartments. What attracted me here was that the apartment was fully furnished and all utilities, including cable, were included in the rent. The only extra thing you have to pay for is Internet service. This is the fourth semester I've been here, and I absolutely love it. There is ample parking, and I love having my own bathroom and kitchen. I commuted to college for my baccalaureate degree, so I never stayed in a dormitory or shared an apartment with anyone. I knew that I couldn't do it now either, so this worked out perfectly for me. It's always quiet when I have to read my books and write my papers. I attribute the good grades I've made at SRU to the peacefulness I always have in my apartment. I completely disagree with some of the other reviews. Just to comment on some of the things I've read, how can you call Stoneworth Apartments overpriced when all utilities--and cable--are included in the rent? Also, the rules pertinent to a lot of the things that some reviewers are complaining about--hanging things on the walls and smoking in the apartment, for example--are outlined in the lease. You agreed to these rules when you signed the lease. READ YOUR LEASE. This apartment really is designed for only one person, not for you to accommodate a bunch of friends. Accordingly, I definitely would recommend Stoneworth Apartments to anyone I know. When I leave my classes at night, it's nice to know that I have a safe, quiet place to study and relax waiting for me. ~Ronell

Her lease, if she exists, is for 6 months at $425 a month because there would be 2 people. One person is $375 a month. Couples are given the option to take these units or not. I sign short term leases for the convienence of the tennant. Also stated in her response was the fact that i walked in on her while she was sleeping. This NEVER happened. Yesterday, for example, Armstrong came here and wanted to go in a girls apt.
