Stay Away From Hampton Pointe!!

I have lived here now for 2 years, and I wish I had never renewed my lease!! When I first moved in, I thought it was a great apt for the money. Now, I find that 1) the partking lot floods every time it rains so you do have to park your car on the grass or 2-3 feet out of the space to prevent your car from flooding. 2) The carpet and blinds have not been replaced for years--so long that the carpet is worn in places and the blinds have dryrotted and cracked. I had to request 3 times for them to be replaced. 3) The appliances are all old and may or may not work. For instance, my garbage disposal worked on and off for a year until I finally insisted that it be replaced. Then, after they replaced it, it was loose, so I ran the sink and the cabinet and kitchen floor flooded. It took a couple of days for them to fix that, of course. I have also asked them to fix or replace my dishwasher three times, which is so old it leaves dirt, sand, and detergent all over my dishes--not exactly what a dishwasher is supposed to do, huh? They still have not fixed it. 3) There is mold growing in my closet, which they just painted over and left. 4) The place is infested with bugs...roaches, spiders, and carpenter bees (outside) are a daily, daily sight. I have called for the exterminator twice, and I don't know what they do but they are all still here. 5) My A/C and heat have just quit working several times, but that was fixed emergently, thank goodness. 6) Don't be fooled by the pictures--the grounds are not kept up at all! The tennis court fence has huge holes at the bottom (so your ball goes right through and then you have to retrieve it from a water-filled ditch--another flooding/mosquito issue!), and the "fitness center" is a joke--the machines are not only outdated, but also not kept up. The best treadmill has a mat that slipps every time you walk on it, which makes a horrendous noise that makes it difficult to exercise safely, and the reclining bike screeches so loud you can hear it through your headphones--no music or TV either...just a moldy steamy room that smells like feet!! Gross!! 7) Although the area is generally pretty safe, there was a carjacking at gunpoint several months ago in front of the apt building in broad daylight. The guy was caught, but I heard about it from my neighbor and on the news--did management send out a notice? NO!! Also, I have a peeping Tom who visits outside my window in the early morning occasionally--scary!! I am just waiting for something else to go wrong with this place--I can't wait to get out!!! I only have 3 more months, but do you think management would give a 3 month lease (as they advertise they do?) Heck no!! They get you in and then inform you that there is a "limit on the # of leases allowed to expire each month"...what this means is that you will not necessarily get the lease you want because the expirations are full....what a joke! I wouldn't live here again even if I was desperate!!
