Review for Deer Meadow Village Apartments

Yes, the hype may draw you in. Brand new apartments, sunrooms, pool, fitness center, cyber cafe, theater, gated community, out away from everything, quiet, pet friendly, reasonably priced, etc. It worked for us. We really took our time in looking into places to live after we re-located to Columbia this summer. We even checked out DMV a few times. Things looked great. Unfortunately, for us looks aren't everything. Even more unfortunate for us, the place was too new to have reviews at the time. If you are considering living there and you are fortunate enough to have the privledge of reading these reviews, consider yourseld lucky. Please take these reviews seriously. It is as awful as every poster has said. Let me retract some of the hype previously mentioned. 1. Brand new apartments-The apartments were made very cheaply by cheap labor. I see previous posters have explained this in greater detail. What they are saying is true. We have had the same problems and have had our "brand new" appliances break 2. Pool-small, still open right now with no cover and it's cold out. The previous posters that commented on the trash that hangs out by the pool were correct. Go there around 6:00 during the summer and see what I mean. 3. Theater-We were told when we moved in that there would be movies shown and we would be notified as residents and invited to come. We have been here since July and have heard nothing nor have we seen it used. 4. Gated Community-TOTAL JOKE! The gate works for a day and then breaks for 5. It's cheaply made and they have no intentions on improvong this. It doesn't serve it's purpose when people sit in the parking lot waiting for someone to come and then ride your tail right through. See previous posts for more detail. 5. Out away from everything-the trash still finds it's way out here and unfortunatly, some of this trash is friends of residents in the front of the complex. 6. Quiet-mostly it is, but during the summer friends of residents have their friends over and they hang out by their cars yelling and talking loudly until 5 am. 7. Pet friendly- dog poop is everywhere and is never cleaned up. I blame the lazy pet owners for this, but management needs to do something about it and they don't. 8. Reasonably priced- I will give them credit, the apartments are nice and spacious. However, the management is awful. Turnover is horrendous. They are lazy. Everything you have read is true. If we have not personally experienced it, our friends here have. The packages, the mail, the ignored maintenance requests, etc. Parking is A NIGHTMARE. If you come home after 7, good luck. People park everywhere, even in front of garages. People also take up 2 spots becuause they can't park. They do nothing about this. There are things in the lease that they do not enforce or keep up. They couldn't pay me to live here. Do yourself a favor and read all these and then run far away!
