Review for The Woods At Harbison Apartments

It's bad on so many levels it is hard to think of where to start. Parking- there is 1 space for each apartment "near" the apartment. If you have two cars or your neighbors do, somebody gets to walk from near other buildings back to your building. Pests can at times get annoying. I had squirrels that actually dug a hole in the T-111 siding at the edge of my bedroom window and were living there. They didn't pay rent so eventually mgmt. got traps and fixed the wall. Cockroaches and other assorted bugs become "normal" after a while. Old appliances- the dishwasher overflowed, they repaired it and it overflowed a second time before it was properly fixed. A/C- current management has been lackadaisical about fixing our HVAC unit. Last year it needed a freon recharge in spring. This year they had to come to get it running again, and it took about a month of it to be fully functional. Only problem is, it makes so much noise and sometimes smells like burning wires, so it's hard to sleep when you're trying to plan an escape route in case of fire. In the past 3 months the quality level of tenants has tanked. Twice I have had to speak to the teenagers otuside my bedroom windows making noise late at night, and had to call the cops after the second time because of their attitude. I guess when the apartment is free, you don't care if you keep the only paying tenant in the neighboring building awake (can't be loud neat to your OWN building). The single pane windows rattle when the boyz in the hood roll by with their systems peaked any time of the day or night. Not a dryer vert to be had, and the closet for the W&D is too small and our dryer sits in the kitchen. Ceiling paint is peeling and dropping off in the bathrooms. There is a spot in the living room where if you put your heel on the carpet just right it feels like you'll go straight through the ceiling of the apartment below. There must be NO insulation in the building, because for under 900 sq. ft. our electric bills are amazingly high. Tack on the $42.25 flat rate for water each month (3 people in the apartment) and it's crazy what it costs to really live here for what you actually get out of it. When I complained to mgmt. about the loud teens at night I was told to call 911 so the police could write a report and get everybody's names. They would then send a copy to the apartment complex, and THEN they would be forced to take some sort of action to quiet things down. I was told there is a weekend secutiy person, but in 23 months I have never seen or met the person. Over the winter, somebody died in one of the buildings from a family disturbance. I'm leaving soon, before my luck runs out... oh yeah, and many times my car doors have new dings on them because the neighbors parking next to me are too lazy or inconsiderate to NOT kick their door open and into mine. Complete lack of respect from neighbors for others (when you're not looking)... one night a car pulled into a parking space and head-on into the corner of a parked car. Did the person say anything? Nope. Pulled the car back out and parked across the way facing the other building. Luckily, somebody happened to see it and called police.
