Confused: Fees will get you!

My boyfriend, our 2 chihuahuas and I lived at BRT for one year. We paid our pet fee and when move out time came around we shampooed the carpets to insure that there would be no question about pet treatments to the carpet; well there was...we were billed 40 dollars to cover the normal "wear and tear" that management called pet damage. It was bogus! One woman was robbed while she and her friend were walking into her apartment. Our neighbor's truck was stolen. One girl's (in our building) car window was broken out 3 times in one month, and all management had to say was buy a garage space to lock your car in. Police patrolled regularly, but were never around when the criminals would strike. We debated breaking our lease and moving out to avoid being stuck in a situation that management would not care or help out about. Pets: they had better be on a leash, and if you don't pick up their droppings, get ready to be threatened by staff! We once left a bag of trash by our door to take out for about 1 hour, and we were fined $25 dollars for leaving it there. RIDICULOUS!! Packages at the office: Be ready to work around the management's schedule to pick up your things. Do Not Take this saying with a grain of salt "It is the diamond in the ROUGH!" It is a nice place, but there are flaws!
