Could Be Better...

I moved here in the Spring 07. One of the things that attracted me to live at DM was the fact that they were new apts and I would be the 1st person living in the unit. I could not have been more disappointed when I actually moved in. It was obvious that no one took any pride in their work. Drawers were not aligned, the disposal broke in the first week, half of the outlets were not working because of improper wiring, the paint comes off the wall in the kitchen on contact with water as if it were sugar, and the ceiling is lower in some parts than others. I can't see the place still standing in 20 years. There are still dozens and dozens of lose nails between the boards along the stairwells one of which found its way into my front tire. In addition, there are always problems with the front gates as they do not work for more than 2 days w/o getting stuck and there always seems to be a problem with the trash compacter, either it is broken or people are too lazy to put their trash in. We're lucky that the place is not over run with animals at night thanks to this. The pool is really the public pool in the summer. Seems like it is full of people from austin woods down the street. They like to hang out at the clubhouse. I have women friends who are afraid to go down there at night to do laundry or work out becuase of the same people who do not belong there are still around. The office staff is OK. Some people are nicer than others. There is a problem with getting notification about packages. On the plus side, most of the residents are nice and quiet. Some families, military, and young prof, a litle bit of everything. The only problem is that if someone decides to have a few people over, then the parking lot turns into a mess because it seems as if there are just enough spots for residents only. If you get home past 8 or 9, you may have to park across the complex and walk. In short, the place looks nice from the outside but there have been enough problems and issues that you're probably better off with a more established place.
