I've lived here for almost two years now, and I am counting down the days until I can get out of here. I moved in when I was in a tight spot in 2010, thinking that them paying the cable and water and things was a sweet deal for what I was paying. Soon enough I was proved wrong! The windows aren't sealed in any way making my electric bill ****, everything is falling apart from the door-jams to the appliances and even the walls, and the maintenance men are hardly qualified to fix anything. They patch things the best they can - much like a stubborn husband - and leave you to call them back within a week or two. Granted sometimes it's bad enough they'll actually call in a professional, but it will never be at a time that's convenient for you. The floor of my one bedroom sagged the whole time I lived there, and I could hear every conversation of my downstairs neighbors. Everything is outdated, neither dishwashers I was given worked. I actually had a maintenance man tell me that I had to wash my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. That dishwashers are really just for rinsing. Even when I did that, both always seemed to conjure up some sort of sandy sludge across my dishes. Probably thanks to their ancient pipes. I had holes in the walls in both apartments, one of which was huge and I demanded they fix and so they screwed a board over the hole.

Upon moving into the two bedroom, which is spacious, I hoped things would change. Hardly. They had the carpets cleaned in mid-summer and kept the a/c on full blast; as a result, they sat soaked for four or five days. When I moved in they were still damp, and I simply got a 'Huh! that's crazy!' from the gals in the office. Needless to say, my apartment is full of mold. I have had the worst year ever! I can SMELL the mustiness in my apartment if I don't vacuum at LEAST every other day. The porch floods when it rains and has rusted my brand new washer and drier, and it's mostly due to the fact that the maintenance men DON'T CLEAN THE GUTTERS! A literal waterfall cascades across my porch every time we have a good rain. YES, I AM CONSIDERING TAKING THIS TO SMALL CLAIMS. This is damage to my personal property because of them! The door doesn't open all the way because the concrete is uneven, I always seem to have random skinny bugs and fat roaches appear, and they will only send pest services in when you request it. They won't change air filters unless I walk over and say 'GIVE ME AN AIR FILTER PLEASE.' Everything is old. They literally repaint every time a resident moves out, but I've found hair, dirt, bugs, and dust painted over without regard. It's just old and out of date and disgusting and raggedy, and rather than just remodel and do it right, they patch it up with crap that only makes living here more miserable. Oh, and the pool is supposedly 'closed on mondays for cleaning' when in reality the maintenance men hardly know what they're doing. It's closed half the week and often weekends without reason, and when pestered about it they said 'The pool is a privilege, not a right.' Does my rent not pay for the upkeep of said pool so often advertised in your fliers????

It's a good deal on rent - but please, please only take it if you're desperate and can't afford anything else. Take the time and research and pay for quality rather than quantity. I am happily going to contact the health department before I move out and pay more for an apartment with less floor space somewhere else in exchange for quality living.
