Apartment Reviews for Tamarind At Stoneridge
deathtrap

I lived at this property from 6/00 to 8/02 and with the fire danger, the noise, the parking, and the horrible staff it was complete and total ****.

When I asked what was going to become of the remains of the building where that poor woman burned to death, I was told it was going to "...be taken care of...". I asked again a few months later and was told it "...would be made a greenbelt w/ BBQs for the tenants to use..." Where that lady died??? ICK!!!

I also had the unique experience of picking up my phone to make a call one evening and hearing one of my neighbors in my buiding telling someone she needed to get the "---- out of there" as she recounted the Columbia Fire Dept's finding of faulty wiring in the stairwell light fixture.

After the 1st fire, the management went around and used long screws to "seal" off the stairwell storage compartments. (New owners were also quickly annouced.) I watched as my neighbors removed the screws and used the storage as they normally would, or piled their junk up on their balconies/decks. Considering there is a BARE light bulb in the stairwell storage closet (WHERE CARDBOARD BOXES WOULD NATURALLY BE STOWED) it was no surprise to me to learn of another major fire that occurred two months after I moved out. The building that burned this time was the one visible from the leasing office, across from the pool. The last time I was in Columbia, the burnt hulk was still just standing there draped with tarps.

My car was hit 'n run TWICE in the parking lot. Once on the left and once on the right; not door-dinged, but significant rear end damage. THE OFFICE STAFF COULD NOT HAVE CARED LESS.

The buildings on this property are SO rickety that my downstairs neighbor's constant door-slamming kept all my pictures hanging crooked. The living room windows never opened all the way. (Another poster claimed how quiet it was... They clearly do not have any adjacent neighbors!)

The fire risk alone (wood framed buildings with cedar siding, poor and possibly faulty electrical wiring and no 3rd floor fire escapes as noted by the Columbia Fire Dept.) is, in my opinion, reason enough to raze this property and construct buildings that meet current safety code.

Don't go near this dump!!!
