I want to caution people to read this before giving these people money. We toured these apartments and they look great. We never moved in though so I cannot speak to living there. We had sold our house, or so we though, so we were in a panic to find a place to live. We were told if we fill out an application and gave them a check to hold an apartment that we could be guaranteed to move in when we needed. We were never told that if we chose not to move in that we would lose that full $1125.00. We thought that check was to HOLD and apartment not a deposit. We never signed a lease or a document saying that we would lose that money. Unfortunately, our circumstances on our house changed. They stated that our money would not be returned. I was appalled. I just gave them the application fee of $35 and a check of $1125.00 to HOLD an apartment and never signed a lease and they are keeping my money. This is not a written policy, I never signed a document saying that this was the policy, I was never told. For all I know, the leasing office could have pocketed the money. They are not willing to work with you and basically just told me that is what it is. If anything results from my dealing with them, I just want people to know that if you give them money of any kind, make sure you are moving in and know what is refundable and what is not. I was blindsided and I basically paid them $1160.00 to run my application for approval. I called around to other apartments and asked what their policy was and they stated that if you didn't sign a lease and didn't move into the apartment that it is unethical for them to not return your money since there was no agreement between me and Hayden Place. Be CAUTIOUS and don't make the same mistake that I did. It can get expensive.

I would like to update this post. I have been in contact with the apartment people and they have agreed to refund my money. I think it is important to say that they have followed up and are trying to make it right. I will again say that anyone entering an agreement should inquire about the unsaid or undocumented. It could possibly prevent the heartache that I had to experience during this process (on both ends).
