Review for Woodchase Apartments

I have lived in Woodchase for four months and it has been awful from the very beginning. I would do anything I could to get out of the lease, but with the ridiculous penalty Sunshine Corporation puts on its leases, it's impossible with going into debt.

In those four months, tiles have come uncaulked from the shower, the dishwasher has leaked, the air conditioning has gone out three times (resulting in a $150 MLGW bill for an apartment that is less than 600 sq. ft. and it took three calls to Woodchase and Sunshine Apartments to get it fixed), the carpet and linoleum in the apartments probably haven't been replaced for 10 years, and the wallpaper is grossly outdated. we have had an infestation of ants and roaches that we eventually had to take care of out of our own pockets because the exterminators came out, claimed they sprayed, and the company rfused to send anyone else out to spray.

I run every morning and about a month ago saw a woman wandering around the complex, trying to dig through the garbage dumpsters, strung out on drugs, and banging on someone's door. I had never seen her before and haven't seen her since. This morning, I saw a guy in tattered clothing attempted to search through the dumpsters and garbage cans near the mailboxes. He wasn't looking for his missplaced mail- that was obvious because he had gone around to all the dumpsters.

Speaking of the dumpsters, it is often hard to run because the dumpsters are not emptied on a regular basis. The trash company never comes the same day each week and it's almost as if the complex calls them when the stench just can't get any worse. There is always garbage around the dumpsters and throughout the streets in the complex. There are two seperate sections to the compex with a grassy area in between them- I can't tell you the last time that area was mowed. There are empty beer cans throughout the bushes.

There is always someone driving through the complex with their car stereo up too loud (if I can hear it in my apartment and it is shaking my windows, it is too loud). Our neighbors aren't bad as far as noise goes, but we never see our neighbors. The ones we do see are rude.

Woodchase and the Sunshine Corporation are just out to get money. They could care less about their tenants. I have heard that you do not pay a deposit because they end up charging you for minute things whenyou move out- things that were probably there when you moved in that they charged the previous renter for too. Do whatever you have to do to stay away from this place!
