Oh my God! Do not rent here!! Do a search on the Knoxville property taxes - the owner is 4 years in arrears, and has been since 1991. He pays just enough to prevent the place from being sold at auction. He pockets everything else, and it shows. The buildings are NOT kept up; things are falling apart. There's a pool; I wouldn't let my dog near it for fear of dysentery. There is absolutely NO pest management - we had mud wasps outside our window in nests that were easily 2 feet x 3 feet. Problems with the neighbors abound too: to our right was a psycho who heard voices; she'd call the cops on us a few times a month (note: we weren't even home a number of times she called them). The immigrant family next door to us had 19 people and 14 basset hounds (no exaggeration here - we were introduced to all of them) in a two bedroom apartment. To avoid having to pay a pet deposit, the dogs weren't allowed outside; instead, the bedroom adjoining ours became their "yard" - the smell through the wall was awful! We tried to get the manager to do something for over four months; nothing was done. Eventually, these tenants moved out in the middle of the night; they left the place in shambles, and to top it off, management tried to blame US, claiming we didn't notify THEM there was a problem! When we moved out, we gave them 30 days notice; suddenly, we started getting letters listing bizarre fees and outstanding debts the manager claimed we owed. When we moved in, we paid first, last, and a security/pet deposit; the receipt clearly reflected this. So of course we didn't pay the last month's rent; on our last day, the manager threatens to prevent us from leaving because he thought we still owed him money! Needless to say, we did not leave a forwarding address, and never did get our deposits back.

Don't live here. It might be pretty at first glance, but look around, and you'll soon realize there's a reason this place has less than 40% occupancy.
