Review Title:   Do Not Rent!!!

Please save yourself a lot of hassle and DO NOT rent from Macon Manor Apartments on Macon west of Stratford. The management is rude and they do not respond to your needs in a timely manner at all or never. Because of the awful condition of the apartment we lived in, we had to spend four nights in a hotel overall because of faulty wiring, water leaks and damage and insufficient heating and cooling. Upon moving in the air didn’t work properly and was never repaired after 3 months of horrible summer heat until it was cold and was I guess not as important after being promised “we’ll have it done tomorrow” for many days in a row. The maintenance is so incompetent we nicknamed them “grey tape men” because nothing was ever fixed only taped up using tape or other ways of jerry rigging things up. There is mold in the apartment because of all of the leaks, the carpets are almost black because of their horrible condition and there are splashes of white paint all over and everywhere because everything was painted but nothing was covered. All of the sockets were painted over making it almost impossible to plug any thing in and not all the sockets even work. They only have 1 basin sinks so you have to wash dishes, put them on the counter and when everything is washed drain the sink and then rinse everything off. You are not allowed to have anything outside of your apartment personalizing your space, even a welcome mat or wind chimes. Our biggest complaint had to be the ceiling leaking in several different places every time it rained, and no adequate heat or air. We called MLGW because none of our wall sockets were working all of the sudden and they came out to investigate and we found out we had faulty wiring in the apartment and the electric had to be cut because it was too dangerous to leave on because it may catch on fire and burn down our apartment. Another night in a hotel. Management told us it would take too long to repair so we could either move out or relocate to another apartment (upon looking at was in even worse shape). How awful is that? They have faulty wiring and we were basically told to get out. The manager was very rude and disrespectful and tries to find reasons to evict people. They ended up rerouting the power (another band aid approach) and got us back in power the next evening. I food ruined and we lost money for the room. I wish I had seen more reviews for these apartments when I was looking so we could have avoided all of these issues and chose a different property. Renter Beware!
