I lived at the Almadura for two years and never had any problems! It is a great place to live. The rent is reasonable and I always felt very safe...And it has a great rooftop deck!

I lived at the Almadura for eight years, and my overall experience there was pretty good. I didn't have the same level of problems with management that another reviewer did. For instance, when appliances stopped working, they were promptly replaced for me. Our refrigerator was replaced once in the time we lived there. Our A/C window unit was replaced twice. When a knob broke on the microwave, the apt. manager gave us one of the working knobs off of her microwave (or else from an empty unit maybe). The apt. management isn't always friendly to work with, but we never had any major issues with them. The maintenance work was always completed to our satisfaction. I also enjoyed living in one of the very few Midtown apartment buildings with gated parking. This added a nice sense of security. The valet trash pickup (from the hallway) is a nice feature as well. Ownership of the building and management personnel changed a few times while we lived there, but it never seemed to affect how things ran. This building is in better condition than most other 1920's Midtown apartment buildings I've seen. I my opinion, you get a lot more bang for your buck living at the Almadura than living in a tiny, overpriced apartment at the Gilmore.
