Apartment Review for Sycamore Lake Apartments

I have had problems from the moment we moved in here. From the office charging us twice for application fees to maintance showing up days late and not having the technical skills to fix the problem correctly. We have sprayed for fleas, had the AC "fixed" three times, the apartment above us flooded bc of a hot water heater problem that with regular upkeep could have been prevented, the only ceiling fan broken when we moved in, plumbing problems, there have been robberies in the apartment and in the parking lot, there are feral cats everywhere, people from all over the neighborhood using the pool, homeless panhandlers ON THE PROPERTY, no parking (which i thought would be solved since the office requires a parking decal and said that they would be towing anyone without one, yea right), fires, heavy drug traffic, FEMA residents moving out but continuing to let their non-Katrina friends and family live there while they charge rent, and lastly poor communication and reaction from the office to any problems. They are quick to dismiss any issues and would rather have you wait for hours before any effort is made to correct any issue. The only positive thing about this place was the two maintance employers who are no longer working on the site. Where the office and staff lacked in efficacy and knowledge, these guys made up in knowledge and efficiency. Just because the rent is lower then most, doesn't mean that the quality of the staff and functionality of the property should be limited. Instead of giving everyone the gift cards to continue their lease, they should have used that money to revitalize the quality of the buildings. <P>
