I've lived at the Capitol Towers for 6 months and have no complaints. It is an old building, but they are currently renovating it. Neighbors are all friendly, a quick walk to pretty much everything in downtown Nashville, incredible rent deals considering the location, and a really helpful staff make it a good choice. Downsides are garage access is limited and sometimes trains can be very, very well heard at night. You get used to that quick, though. Overall, a very good deal for the money, and a safe place to lay your head in the great city of Nashville.

I have lived here for 6 months with seeing very little of the changes promised when moving in. The hall ways are nasty with carpet from the 70's along with animal urine and more. I was sold on the fact that it was an up and coming place to live and the only thing I see up and coming is the increase in parking and rental units. I was told one thing and then another when scheduling to move in but it was too late to change due to the movers, etc.....The maintenance guys are great and respond quickly. The water quality has much to desire but I can not affor bottle water to bath in. The heating either burns you up or you freeze. I love the location, the walk to work, the ground of the Capital with the Farmers Market and Bicentinnel Mall so close. Capital Towers would be a great place to live if the owners would only open their eyes and take pride in their tenants and most importantly the building and grounds. The last thing to say, I do not believe that it is the owners bringing in the bad but the management also.

i posted an earlier review which says it all. Just responding to the previous review of july 6th... Yes people were shooting fireworks/bottle rockets!... it was the 4th of july...that's what people do in the USA. Yes, the health dept closed the pool for a week cause the inspector stopped by and some idiot has his dog in the pool area and it says on the rules outside the gate "No pets". Also somebody stole the rope attached to the saftey innertube. The pool has always been spotless. Yes the water was out for a morning but it was fixed very soon...things happen. No, the elevators were not out around the first of july...i go from the top floor to the pool level several times a day and i would know if they were...people move in/out at the first of the month, and as you know, they block off one elevator for moves. As previously announced, otis elevator company is upgrading the elevators...tracks...engines...etc to modern specs...the building was built in 1960. They have a new manager here...he evicted the 5 crackheads that people were referring to and is spending a lot of money on upgrades. This is a condo building...many many state employees own/rent here...it is mostly white collar people. There are 2 cops in the building including the the asst. state fire marshal/arson investigator and i have seen him arrest people in the parking lot. Yes there has been some problems and will be some problems, but don't make it out like this is a drug den...it is quite the oppisite.

I disagree with the previous review but will not respond. My only complaint with the mgmt is that they need a new groundskeeper. They have been very nice and helpful to me. My main complaint is with the neighborhood: if on the back side, the train whistles annoy some, but not me. Also, there are some "audio traffic signals" for the blind that make a loud annoying whistle every 60 seconds that is almost unbearable to some, including me. Apparently the city will not resolve this, they are putting them up all over downtown. Finally, being in the downtown area, there is lots of homeless/hustlers walking around bumming money etc.. Other than that, i like it here. (i moved to the front side which resolved these noise issues) I pay 625 for all utilities top floor unit with amazing view of downtown nashville and west end. Can't beat that. (it's an extra 100$ for a parking space) Quicky mart on bottom floor is very conveinent. Nice pool. Love the large outdoor balcony. Beautiful grounds- your lawn is the state capitol and bicentennial mall state park. Great place to live if you are on front side of building. I could live here forever due to the price and my view of downtown.
