The vast majority of people who take the time to write a review on a site such as this do so because of a negative experience. The average bump-free renter won't be bothered.
My wife and I have been here for 6 months, and though it's not exactly Shangrila, it is a great facility and the staff are very kind, speedy, and helpful. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that we have to leave the country soon, we'd be glad to stay in our apartment until our year is up in November. Which leads me to my next point:

I lived at the Lakes for almost 5 years while working in Nashville. In that time I witnessed gunshot fights outside my apartment, my truck was vandalized by someone sawing off the muffler, other people woke to having their cars sitting on blocks because all 4 tires had been stolen during the night. Alot of drug dealers and no security means you pay. The Lakes would not even return a call about the incidents or acknowlrdge them in any way.
I had bees inside my apartment for years. There is no mailbox to send mail. The apartments were built in the 70's and the plumbing is shot.
When I had to move for work, they sued me instead of offering any alternative to release me from my lease.
They are not concerned with humans, they are concerned with stealing whatever they can by listing easy access to out of state web sites for move in deals.
Go to other rating sites and read what others have experienced before you sleep with satan here. e-mail me, I can tell you even more horror stories about drug dalers walking around in blankets all night, and pool partied where thugs vandalize tenannts. They will not get security and you are on your own in this **** hole. Save yourself the agony. Rent from a reputable dwelling.

I definitely recommend the lakes of Bellevue! I have found my experience here to be really fantastic. The apartments may not have super new stainless steel appliances/granite counter tops - but you also save rent $ by not having appliances that are not absolutely necessary. (Go down the street and pay $100-$200 more/month for these luxuries if you really need them - I decided save so I can get them when I can own) You can still make it look very modern and nice! Otherwise my apartment is fantastic. I painted two accent walls in two different rooms to give it some personalization (and this is okay as long as you paint it back white or prime it before you leave - no charge to your deposit)
I needed maintenance twice, once when I first moved in and to have a security bar installed on my sliding door (again, no extra charge to you and added security if you would like one) They were there very promptly which is impressive with the number of apartments in the complex and were very friendly! They even remembered my dog when we were out walking and passed and said hello to us -very nice guys! They have a trash valet where you can just put your trash outside of your door Sunday-Thursday nights by 8pm and it's picked up right from your door! A pool/spa that is open year round and a free tanning bed in the fitness center.
Also - IF YOU HAVE PETS - this is by far the best deal I have found looking around the area. Most places are $200-$300+ deposit plus an additional pet rent (usually $25-$35/month on top of your rent). Depending on how long you're gonna be in an apartment this REALLY ads up. With the lakes of bellevue, $200 non refundable and $200 refundable, so no matter how long you stay in the apartment you don't haveta keep paying on top of your rent for your pooch. And as long as you have a well-trained animal, you should get your $200 back at the end so you only had to pay $200 total for your animal - well worth it for your furry best friend!
Lastly - you can get a bonus for recommending someone - so if you visit and fall in love with this place like I did, e-mail me chloe.24@hotmail.com and I can give you my info so you can say I referred you! I'm not just referring this place because of that, I love it and plan on being here for a couple years! If you come visit the complex and love it and don't refer me, that's okay too - welcome to the complex - but if you want a little extra $$ too and love the complex then e-mail me and I will share the extra $$!! Every little bit helps!!
Good luck on the apartment search :)

This is the worse ran complex or business I have ever see. When you call and ask a question you get differant answers depending on who you talk to. They are rude and very inexperienced kids running this complex. They have not yet learned the importance of professionalizm and the negative image they are putting on their company. I will never recomend this complex to anyone because they are dishonest in my opinion

I stayed at the lakes of bellevue for 2 years. It was my first time ever renting an apartment. The staff was nice here and maintenance was good about fixing maintenance problems asap. The people were friendly, and there was always an abundant amount of parking. I lived on the bottom level and I could always hear my neighbor upstairs walking around, but after awhile it didn't bother me. I felt safe and comfortable living here. The only thing that kind of irritated me was the fact that my apartment unit was located at the furthest location in the back of the apartment so it took me about 5-7 minutes (due to speedbumps) to make it to my actual apartment. Other than that I enjoyed my stay here.

I moved here in March and haven't had any problems with anything. If I needed something done in my apt. the maintence people were out there the same day. All of the people in the office were sooo friendly and helpful! They recently changed ownership and all of the regulars in the office are gone, I'm always scared when that happens. As far as anything goes around here, I have no complaints, great place to live. I love the hot tub and the fact that there are three pools. The geese and their babies are fun to watch too.

This is a fantastic location to call home. Bellevue in general is just so calm, safe, and beautiful...I wish I could afford a house there. The complex really is just as beautiful as the photos, and there are always excellent opportunities to see amazing wildlife. Currently, we have baby geese, redwing blackbirds, mallards, a heron or two, and a herd of deer that like to watch out for us. Towards the front of the complex, there are wild turkeys and racoons as well, and you're practically inside Percy and Edwin Warner parks, so the views are phenomenal. As far as safety is concerned, I have great neighbors, and never mind leaving doors unlocked while I run for errands. I recommend this place whole heartedly.

As far as negative factors...Bellevue seems to be about 30 minutes from everywhere. Good if you want distance, bad for gas mileage. Also, I agree with the previous poster...the apartments are too expensive for their size. I pay over 600 for a one bedroom "efficiency," but if you want a beautiful place to call home, it's worth it. Also, the fitness room is teeny tiny, and only has a few machines. Come prepared to compete for them...

Downside: The aparmtents are too expensive for the size and the fitness room is below-average.
