Apartment Review for 1200 Enfield

I lived in the OLD front house by the pool. I LOVED the apartment--very charming, but in severe disrepair. There was a week and a half that I didn't have a bathtub. The management didn't notify me that two non-english speaking men would be in my apartment working on it when I got home that 1st evening. Awkward. Management told me from day 1 that it would be installed "tomorrow." <P>
Another time, there was a friggin gas leak that management would not believe until someone called City of Austin Utilities to have it fixed. Again, someone had been in my apartment and pulled the stove into the middle of the kitchen, without so much as a note. <P>
And it was very expensive. I loved the apartment and location, but needed to be renovated SO badly. It was literally dangerous to live there. Forget about getting a dime of your deposit or pet deposit back. The management changed to a P.O. box by the time I left and was impossible to get hold of. Hopefully they spent it on upgrading the gas lines! <P>
If I were a real estate mogul, I would renovate the property and rent the apartments for 3x as much. Sadly, the current owner is going to let it rot into the ground (or explode). <P>
