Apartment Reviews for Marquis At Volente - Austin

Marquis At Volente sits on Anderson Mill Road, close to Route 183. Shopping is simple with the Lakeline Mall minutes down the road. Tenants can shop at stores like Macy's, Target, and Kohl's. Renters can enjoy scenic views of several parks in the area, including Canyon Creek Trailhead Park, Elizabeth M. Milbum Community Park, and Mountain View Park. Reviews mention that maintenance can be slow with repairs and parking can be a hassle, but management is helpful, the community is family-friendly, and the property is safe.

My family and I have lived here for nearly year now with minimal problems. Lets start with the good first.

Good - The new management is VERY helpful and is quick to fix ANY problems. Maintenance crew is very nice and one of them actually plays basketball with my fiance on weekends and after work. He lives here on the property with his family, when he sees us he always asks how we're doing. We did have an ant problem during the worst summer EVER but it's Texas, it happens. The exterminator took care of it and is on the property EVERY Wednesday. He is a very nice man and comes when he says he will. I did find ONE scorpion in my bathroom, quite scary but after the treatment (pet friendly treatment) I haven't seen once since. The pool is salt water, so that is very nice not smelling like chlorine and turning my hair green, although it is kind of small for the size of the complex. They recently replaced the roof prior to that though there were NO leaks. It was done VERY fast and looks A LOT nicer than before. They expanded the work out room and internet cafe, just like they promised. The office staff is very friendly, but they have an issue answering the phone. Overall it's quiet except for the kids running and screaming but hey, they're kids. My electric is not that much and I live on the third floor.

Bad - Marquis at Volente was previously known as Amberley Ridge, the management from Amberley Ridge had the garbage disposals taken out. I would prefer to have one and I noticed the new management for "Marquis at Volente" was offering a garbage disposal installment for a prize, which I think is completely stupid. I think they should just put it back in for all the tenants. I think the dish washers could also be updated seeings how there are GIGANTIC gaps between it and the counters. There is no light in the "living room", so it's pretty dark. Which leads me to the layout of the apartment, the layout is very strange and you hardly have any room to rearrange. If you have big furniture for the one bedroom, you should just downgrade to smaller furniture. There's not many options to set up and have a lot of extra room. The window in the bedroom is GIGANTIC which brings a lot of light into the room, nice on some days. The window in the living room is a pain in the a** because it's the hallway window and right next to the stairs. Which means if your couch is up against the window, you can hear EVERYTHING. WORST thing about this apartment. However, the rest of the apartment is SO quiet. I can hear my neighbors vacuuming every now and again but usually when it's extremely quiet. Parking is a *****. If you get home late, forget about finding a good spot unless you're living in one of the back lots.

They are pet friendly but the 'deposit' is STEEP. I think it's silly but that's what all apartment complexes are doing, charging a butt load for pets.

I am giving Marquis a four because over all it's a GREAT place to live. Despite the parking and few minor problems, I would gladly live here until we can afford a house.
