I lived in that place when it was new. The best advantage of that place is its close proximity to UTSW campus, albeit this means you're far away from civilization, fine dining and night life. Saying that there were some social activities held mainly by a couple of students from time to time but in general residents are not as friendly as you expect in campus or near campus living. In general it is not safe as the area as it is close to the underprivileged areas of Dallas. There are supposed to be automatic gates but they were open most times day and night and any intruders could come in any time. Even in the few days the gates were fixed all you need to get in is to wait for another car to open the gates! There is supposed to be a security gaurd at night but this probably happens infrequently. Multipe car break ins and thefts happened while I was a resident, one of them my friend's car. There was no violent crimes at least that I've heard off, but my hunch it is only a matter of time. A lot of suspicious people who DO NOT live on the premises room the place at night. For security I'd rate this place poorly. This place was new so I didn't have a lot of issues with maintainane though there were few. The management was not good either, and they were not there when I needed them. There are very inflexible in terms of what you need and once you sign your lease basically non-negotiable even on trivial issues, something you don't expect in a community living. Frquent false fire alarms on the weekend and nights take hours to be fixed and no one in management makes it to help the fire department which meant we had to evacuate the building no matter what time to avoid the noise. My final advice to you if you happens to be a UTSW resident, if you have a car go live in uptown, if you don't try university housing first, you pay $100 dollars extra but it is worth it. I would rate this place 2/5 at best. ( 1 cauz you can't rate zero +1 for proximity).
