This is a great place to live if you're into crime and dealing with rude management. If you are a UTSW student, the good thing about the complex is its proximity to campus. However, it is NOT worth it. The place is expensive. The only time management is nice and cooperative is when you sign the lease. It's all downhill from there. They are openly rude and argumentative. And, of course, there are the rats. Beware if they offer you an apartment on the first floor: this is where they live. One got run over in the garage; I thought it was a kitten when, upon a second look, I realized to my horror that it was a huge rat. Also, this community is co-owned by HUD. I suppose this in part contributes to the crime in the complex. The police are frequently seen inside the complex. That is, when they actually find a way inside: a few times they can be heard at night souding their siren trying to get in through the gate. Apparently, they have no way of getting in outside of office hours. There was a murder in the complex, now there are (at least) two apartments involved with prostitution. Recently the police had to completely remove the door from one of those apartments to get in. I personally have seen a man get arrested on the corner just outside the complex, and I have only lived here a few months. There was a woman living in her car in the garage. There is a security guard, but he mainly just sits in his car "smoking" and listening to music. I definitely do not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. If you are a UTSW student, I suggest trying student housing or moving uptown. You're going to have to drive to class anyway, so why not move to a safer area where you will have less stress?
