Apartment Reviews for Hilton Head Apartments - Dallas

Hilton Head Apartments is situated off I-635, 9 miles northeast of downtown Dallas. Sam’s Club and Lowes are both a half mile away for all tenants’ various and sundry needs. Several dine-out options are also available less than a mile away, including Taqueria Hildalgo, Whataburger, and Chubby’s Family Restaurant. For recreation, residents can visit the nearby Samuel Garland Park. Although renter reviewers complained of pest problems and dated appliances in some of the units, reviews also praised the maintenance crew and the unit floor plans.

I absolutely loved this place! I felt very safe there and maintenance was the quickest and best I'd ever had! I lived on the 3rd floor and never ever heard any of my neighbors. In fact... I sometimes wondered if I had neighbors. The pool was always super clean and the fitness center was always clean and (in my case) I was usually the only one there. It did crowd at night though. The property was always nice looking. I was very impressed by the care taken to have trash picked up every morning to keep the property looking 10 times better than all the surrounding properties.

The only problem I had in the 1 & 1/2 years I lived here was my car being stolen in Jan of 2007. Luckily it wasn't a car I was attached to and I did get it back after a month in fairly good condition. I've heard and read in more recent reviews that this property has gone down hill. It seems as though management started to change as I was leaving. Management was always good to me while I lived there, even when I lost my job and had to pay rent late one month they were willing to work with me. The apartment itself was very clean as well. I always had more than enough parking, but I believe that was due to my location. There were other places in the complex where parking was a little scarce.

When I moved out I did get charged a heafty fee for a new paint job, which I thought was bogas since they are supposed to do that for each new resident anyways... plus I worked real hard to make sure I didn't damage the walls. I was also charged a "clean-up" fee which was bogas since I spent DAYS cleaning that place before I left so it was spotless. I was refunded the "clean-up" fee since I took pictures of the apartment to prove my innocents before I left.

All in all, I had a good time there, just a few set backs. It was a good location too. Great deal for the price! I was only paying $485 for their smallest apartment which was 720 sq ft. Pretty big to me!
