Review for The Timberlinks At Denton Apartments

MAKE SURE YOU READ YOUR LEASE! These "professionals" know nothing about honoring leases, so be prepared to have to take legal action.

The office staff doesn't know what they're doing! During the two years that I was there, I avoided calling them because anything from maintenance to receiving my refund upon moving out took anywhere from 1 week to 4 months! I recall having no warm water or hot water during November and it was freezing cold outside...nobody fixed it until a week later eventhough I called numerous times. They tried to jack up the price by more than $100 my last year there and tried to sell me on the "great location" (it's located by a landfill and I would get a whiff of that stuff on breezy afternoons when I got home from work). A few weeks after giving my notice to move out, I received a notice I'd keep my same rate. They also tried to get me to sign something that contradicted what was said on my lease. And be prepared to have their office close at least 20 minutes before their close of business hours.

The worst was when I moved out. The incompetent assistant manager failed to look at my lease and failed to return about half of my refund. To even get them to let me speak to the manager took 4 months and 4 months later, I got my full refund. Know that if they don't refund your deposit or provide an itemized list of why they're keeping your deposit within 30 days, then you're entitled to take legal action and you will win by default and get up to 3xs the amount that they originally owed you.

My best friend also lived there and they charged her for her modem eventhough she returned it and the leasing agent who was working that day just failed to document it. The people there are error prone and they expect YOU to pay for it. It's not worth it. Oh, and yes, this is while I was under The Lynd Company and the new company that took over.

They think that because they rent to students, that they can advantage of them, but that's not the case.

Yes, the apartments look nice. After moving in, I found out from my neighbor that the people who lived there before me were foul and would go to the restroom in beer bottles and leave them laying around the apartment ...and when I requested that the apartment change my carpet, they refused, eventhough there were stains all over the place. Gross.

So really reconsider. I recommend The Coventry over these. These are overpriced for what you get...a headache and a bunch of crooks.
