Review for Westwind Apartments

Westwind-rest in piece. They seem really really nice at first. They even have cookies in the office all the time if you like that kind of thing. I was really impressed at first...they offer free cable, free membership to the gym...pretty low priced rent also. But, if you do choose Westwind, make sure that you stay on top of everything! Within 3 weeks of moving in, we had ants and moths crawling and flying everywhere! Moths I can understand, but ants!??!! No way. Parking is awful. Sometimes I couldn't even see my apartment from where I parked. One of the biggest problem was the office and the maintenance. They offer free cable but my room didn't have the jack for it. I called and one of the ladies told me that I could stretch a a cable (split the cable) so that I could have internet and cable in my room. I don't know if you like a long black cable stretched out across the floor that is constantly in the way, but I sure didn't. The location of the entire complex really isn't too convenient either, especially if you go to school like I do. The last and final complaint was the note that said "notice of eviction" that was left on our door. My roomate and I...we're good people, we pay our bills and so of course, when we saw this, we were very very confused! We were given pro rated rent the first month and give the second month free of rent.. I don't know how they figure the math, but we were told to our face and in writing that nothing was owed for the second month. We woke up the next morning and immediately went to the office and asked what was going on.. They answered, " we just wanted y'all to come down and talk to us". Whhhhhaaattt?? My heart sunk when I saw the "notice of eviction" on the door. Could a simple phone call not have worked?? Just make sure that you have pictures of the money orders you use for rent or keep the receipt or something! we lived here for 7 months, now we're finished!
